The Appeal Court rejected SRP MP Son Chhay’s case against the forced sale of his 3.14-heactare property in Siem Reap to the Apsara Authority for a paltry sum of $0.50 per square-meter – an amount far lower than market value. Son Chhay alleged that the Apsara Authority would turn around and sell this land to private developer at $40 per square-meter. The Cambodia Daily quoted Son Chhay as saying at the end of the hearing: “This shows clearly that trials in our country are meaningless. The court doesn’t have a duty to find justice, it is a tool used to serve politics.” While Judge Thou Mony denied that the court decision was political, Son Chhay said that he will bring his case to the Supreme Court.

demand a strong reform in the judiciary sytem in cambodia ie. the supreme court and anything is possible to sue or take to court. a check and balance gov't system is very important to curb corruption and to hold gov't officials responsible, accountable, and transparent for the position that they are holding.

Nothing is more suffering than injustice. This suffering stays forever in persons'mind. Then there is no peace both in society and in mind.

Gentleman

This is no doubt a political game of CPP, intending to break MP Son Chhay due to having been outspoken in regarding dirty affairs of current government. It is not achievable about monk Tim Sakhorn, but international communities are aware of that now. There are other issues that have shaken the government. This is all Sok Anh strategy,a cock fighter, in breaking good will of cambodian compatriot. In fact, there are so many people's land out there can be stirred up, but because the election is coming up and to keep MP Son Chhay mind out of election.

There are so many reasons for MP Son chhay to win this case. And affected cambodians are behind you.
Keep international medias focused so that abuse of power will eradicated.

Right 6:45 AM ! This is a 2- way street of Sok An Political game to disturb Mr SUN CHHAY!in the purpose of cutting SRP power down and If SRP still consider its Party stronge will lost the seat in the coming election...So I think SRP should walk hand in hand with the New Powerful Party to win the Seat ..or Khmers people lost!!

It is in fact a good idea of democrats joining for political strength, but pros and cons has to be closely considered.

Setting up roles and responsibilities and goals have to be clearly identifies and documented. However real democrats can offer votes to prefered party on pre arrangement, or form a coalition party. Time factor could be the constraint. And ensure avoiding failure like previous unity with FUNCINPEC, i also witnessed that.

Constitution in the books is just a raw constitution if no one utilizes it. Until now there is no constitudion in judicial branch are putting for practice. About check and balance may be existed until the next 20 years or may be more due to the ignorance of the leaders.

Cambodia is the mafia state and run as such. The very people who supposed to be the role models for the country are the people commit crimes and injustices to their own people and shamelessly declaring Cambodia is the country of law and order.

I urge someone to document their crimes individually when time is right take them to court. These people must be punished.
