The Nation (Thailand)
Cambodia will send a team of officials to Bangkok next month in an attempt to end the conflict over the proposal to have Unesco include the Preah Vihear shrine on the World Heritage list, Foreign Minister Noppadon Pattama said Saturday.
The team will be led by Prime Minister Hun Sen's advisory chief Var Kim Hong.
Cambodia last year asked Unesco to place Preah Vihear on the World Heritage list, a move which Thailand objected to.
The question of ownership of the shrine was put before the World Court, which ruled in favour of Cambodia in 1962.
Reacting to Cambodia's proposal last year, Thailand put its case to Unesco, saying the two countries had not yet settled a demarcation agreement on land around the ruins.
A senior Thai Army officer has suggested the two countries should jointly propose the listing of the historical site to Unesco as Thailand may lose its land, which has yet to be demarcated, if Cambodia made the proposal alone.
Noppadon said Saturday he had discussed the issue with his Khmer counterpart Hor Nam Hong on the sidelines of the Asean retreat meeting in Singapore on Tuesday.
Hor Nam Hong asked for Thai support for his country's resubmitting of the proposal to Unesco this year. He said Phnom Penh was ready to declare that the procedure would not affect the border demarcation.
Noppadon said Var Kim Hong will discuss the issue with the Thai Foreign Ministry's Legal Affairs Department chief Weerachai Pladisai. He insisted Thailand had no policy to block Cambodia's proposal to Unesco but that the territorial issue should be resolved first.

mr. var kim hong, please represent the cambodian people's unimpressiveness with the thai on the issue of our preah vihear temple. we are not happy with the way thailand or special thai group if not their entire nation or something the way they harrassed cambodia like this. please let them know that this is not the way to make friends with us. thank you, sir.
Mr. Var Kim Hong, Let me believe in you in doing this great task to our own people and country. Mentally, Thai never think that we are friend/neighbour, but word. Why we need to be submissive to them? Let's Cambodians believe in you to do this for our nation. We love our territory as well as every sigle temple that our hero left to us. Very much thanks to your effort. We Cambodians would disappointed very much if Thia win this argument. We love to have friends from thousands kilometers rather than this wild dog neighbour.
I find it is very hard to understand the psychology behind the stupid fuck Cambodian Vietcong slave officials motive to why they want to go to Thailame just to negotiate something that belong to Cambodia in the first place?
I have been following AH SVA KIM HONG negotiation track records for a long time especially the way he handle his negotiation with the Vietcong government which he always negotiate to give away of what is left of Cambodia and he like to do his negotiation in secrecy and before Cambodian population know anything and it is too late for them to say anything!
As far as I am concerned the Thaicong are following the Vietcong foot step and that is to make Cambodia give everything in the name of negotiation because the Vietcong government had been very successful in their negotiation to have all their border treaties signed by the stupid fuck Cambodian Vietcong slave officials! To this day all the negotiations done by AH SVA KIM HONG with the Vietcong government still remain in secrecy and nobody can verify anything about the Vietcong government claimed over Cambodian land and sea boundary!
I believe Cambodia as a nation needs many allies or neighbors as possible but the way the Thaicong and the Vietcong continue to behave in a bully and belligerent manner like this and there is no good reason for Cambodia to keep them as neighbors! Cambodia has a choice to look beyond the Thaicong and the Vietcong world!
HEY WHEN YOU TRAVEL YOU MAKE EXTRA MONEY!
NOT ABOUT THAI GIRLD TOO!
To 5:23AM
What the fuck did you just say?
I sure hope that Var Kim Hong and his stupid group of puppets will put Cambodia interests before his CPP's interests.
I am not skeptical that the decision will be disappointing to Cambodia(n). I have lost all my faith in CPP’s leadership and their so called negotiators; they have never made any deal that benefits Cambodia. As for border conflicts between the east and west side of Cambodia never enlarged to it supposed territorial marks but they are being moved inward whether is it by land or sea.
The Thai government never treated Cambodian as “Friends/Human” I’m sure a lot of Cambodian people who survived the Thai refugee camps know how inhumane the Thai were to the Cambodia refugees trying to flee war trouble Cambodia during the late 70’s and early 80’s.
Why the Cambodian/Thai boarded on the west being moved into Cambodia? How could they have the never and no shame to ask Cambodia to share Preah Vihea? I guess the answer is simple, They have no respect for Cambodia and her people.
Please tell your love ones to stop supporting Thai showbiz. Please stop watching Thai movies. Please stop embracing a culture of people that hate our existence.
I'm not asking you to hate Thai, I'm only asking you not to believe that the Thai are better than Khmer. We have all the resources (except our Hanoi installed government) to be proud of.
