(February 7, 2008) - An alert from the Better Business Bureau, after a Central Texas woman is targeted by an internet scam that cost her thousands.
The woman wired money to an account in Cambodia, after depositing a cashier's check in her account and transferring most of it.
The check turned out to be counterfeit, and as a result, the woman's bank account was wiped out.
The Better Business Bureau says if it seems too good to be true, it probably is, and you should report such scams to its office immediately.
