He said that the Cambodian government did not ban the issuing of visa for Prof. Yash Ghai. Khieu Kanharith told The Cambodia Daily that the government never issued such a ban order. He said that this was a fake statement, or it was issued by someone who does not understand foreign affairs. He said that Cambodia would not take such action and that Prof. Yash Ghai can come or not come to Cambodia. Prof. Yash Ghai plans to provide his human rights report on Cambodia on 19 March, at the UN Human Rights Council meeting which will take place in Switzerland between 03 and 28 March 2008.

The stubbornness of M.Yash Ghai to come to the Cambodia to do his political work on the human rights just before election 2008 cames, while it is not desired by the persons in charge politics of our country shows to evidence the interference politics of the west and of the USA in political life interior of Cambodia.
If the representative of the UN is not desired to Cambodia, then it is necessary to change representative of the UN to unblock the position.
If not, the work of this representative can be only politically supporter and lacking in all impartiality.

This back-flip shows that the Cambodian leaders are ignorant of international laws. This U-turn probably happens as a result of advice from foreign diplomats that what Hun Sen and his govt. did in banning Ghai was against international laws. Ignorance can only bring shame to themselves.
