The US has not plan to help the KR Tribunal yet. Meanwhile an ECCC delegation is now in New York City to try to find additional budget from the UN for completing the judgment of the former KR leaders still alive.
The ECCC delegation includes Sean Visoth, the ECCC administrative director, Dr. Helen Jarvis, the ECCC director of public affairs, and Thong Socheat, the ECCC national director of finance and budget.
Regarding the ECCC delegation mission in New York, Joseph Mussomeli, US Ambassador to Cambodia, said that this shows that the Cambodian government and the KR Tribunal are making big progress in its work. However, the US has no plan to provide aid for the KR Tribunal yet.
Mussomeli indicated that Cambodia is confident that it will receive aid from other friendly countries: “Based on our understanding, the Cambodian government is very confident that it will find sufficient funds from friendly countries. The US has no plan to seek budget to help the KR (Tribunal) work at this point in time.”

Does this means that the US will not contribute to the needed 114 millions USD?
USA has financed enough to topple the Sangkum Reastr Niyum in the 70's, installed Lon Nold government republic and supports the warring factions along Thai-Cambodia borders throughout 1979 - 1991, and they can't afford to funance the ECCC due to the cost blow out in Afghan, Iraq and ongoing supports for Israel and may be Iran is their next target.
Your idea: "...you started ... now, you need to finish it! If you cannot finish it, pull the plug on the tribunal, and then close the case -- indefinitely...!" As for those retarded gorillas -- let them cry and complain and whine. After all, this is what they're good at.
God damn it! In recent months, you have made inroads into a situation in which you never envisaged that you'll be in ... now, you're unable to control the situation, and then you decided to call it quit, which is not a bad idea (at all).
Moreover, we should never have bee in this quagmire. Why would you and the rest of the retarded gorillas incessantly persisted in digging the past and attempting to precipitate a chaos, since the country's political stability has been achieved. Therefore, cease and desist licking your wound, and start healing it, because we certainly do not want to find ourselves on the precipice of (yet another) civil war. The tribunal is a major drag for the country, and therefore pulling the plug is of paramount importance for the sake of Cambodia and its people.
Again, if you only have a modicum of common sense, stop fostering a problematic dichotomy between public will and political will. Cambodia must move forward!

US might not want to share the indirect support to the invasion of Vietnam through KR tribunal.
Vietnam invaded Cambodia in January 7 is worldwide condemned and denounced. It is the international law adjudicated this invasion that Vietnam has also accepted this reality.
But only few Cambodian leaders and individuals who don't see that Vietnam invaded Cambodia, but saved Cambodia.
