Hor Nam Hong can be brought to court to answer about his involvements under the KR ... for a mere $2,500 (10 million riels)

Foreign Minister Files Suit Against Opposition

Foreign Minister Hor Namhong filed a complaint in Phnom Penh Municipal Court Tuesday, alleging defamation and dissemination of false information against opposition leader Sam Rainsy.

In an April 17 speech in remembrance of the fall of Phnom Penh, Sam Rainsy said the government still housed former members of the Khmer Rouge, including the Foreign Minister.

If someone calls me Khmer Rouge, I will be filled with deep pain,” Hor Namhong told journalists Tuesday. “I made the complaints today, one for defamation and the other for the dissemination of false information, because Sam Rainsy was attended by hundreds of people.”

Court officials said Tuesday they had received the complaint, in which Hor Namhong is suing for 10 million riel.

SRP Secretary-General Eng Chhay Ieng said the courts had no ability to judge who was Khmer Rouge cadre or not.

The party was not worried about the case, he said.

The complaint comes just three months before general elections and Sam Rainsy could face a jail term if found guilty.

“We believe that the Cambodian politicians should not choose to lodge a complaint at the moment,” said Ny Chakrya, chief investigator for the rights group Adhoc. “It is better to keep the good atmosphere for elections.”

Hor Namhong said Tuesday that if Sam Rainsy apologized, the minister would withdraw his suit.

Sam Rainsy is currently out of the country.

Of course he must be brought to court
to clarify Mr Sam's accusation. Will he be brave enough as a real man, or scarry enough as a coward fool?

please emphasize the difference between being summoned to court as a witness from being called to court to be charged. this way, people (because of the culture of fear instill under the KR regime) are not afraid of being accused or blamed wrongly as many cambodian have this kind of mentality of fear for life. this way, everyone can feel safe and not afraid to talk as a witness of the KR atrocity and ruthless rules. i think it depends on the approach people have on former KR officials. also, remember that all of cambodia was under the cruel regime of the KR then, so in a way, everyone was involved either directly or indirectly due to the culture of fear for own's life under that stone age gov't system that killed millions of its own people, khmers. so i hope the court will consider all possible causes instead on being narrow-minded. thank you and god bless cambodia.

The whole CPP clan is made of former Khmer Rouge soldiers including AH HUN SEN himself! The reason the CPP clan denies that they are no longer part of the Khmer Rouge because they are now become the Vietcong slaves since 1979 and without these Vietcong slaves the Vietcong can never occupy Cambodia for 10 years and prolong the war, the pain and the suffering of Cambodian people by using their K-5 plan to eliminate the Khmer race!

All of Vietcong slaves are do no good mother fucker and yet they still claim their righteousness!

Time will honor Sam Rainsy the man he is! Let AH HOR NAMHONG the Vietcong slave bring the damn lawsuit to please his Vietcong master!

I am the man of many faces. I have been labelled every regime I have lived through and worked for.

If I am accused of being a KR cardre, I then simply say that I was minister in republic Lon Nol or even before instead, Because that how I live with no CONCIENCE.

The atmosphere before and on the day of the election will not be any different.

This is a test of nerve where one side decided to have a shot at someone without mentioning name and wait to see what the reaction from other side.

Of course, now there's a law suit, but how far this law suit will go? What will be the complication if there's any?

Don't think it will go too far at all. Somewhat and somehow, this issue will die down close to the date of election.

This is the time that Huncent and his cronies to kick the opposition party leaders especially for SRP, HRP, and NRP party out of the list of election that arranged by NEC's Huncent through accusing opposition leader as defamation or demonstration, etc....regarding to this urgly trick of Huncent and his cronies, the opposition leader should becarefull of any acting and wording in order to avoid of the kinds of accusation.
furthermore, the opposition leader should strongly and strickly focusing on the processing of election that runing by Nec's Huncent. because Huncent and his cronies don't care about popular vote, he care about NEC processing, and military power to keep the power.
Yours,
People Power (Ps)

Hor Nam Shit,

Go ahead to sue Sam Rainsy. Then the tribunal will call all of you to the court to face justice. You're the murderer and work for Hanoi, not for Cambodia. You have signed a lot of land to Hanoi. You, Hor Nam Shit, Sok An, Hun Sen, Chea Sim, Heng Sam Rin, etc... are former Khmer Rouge and must stand trial. You won't escape justice.

Ah Savage Killer Sam Rainsy is desperate to gain votes; so he called everyone Khmere Rouge. This is blatantly cheating our fair election process. He must be prosecuted to the max to set example for others. Evil doers will not be tolerated in Cambodia.

Appears to be only corruptists can be tolerated in our land these day.

Stop changing the subject, 7:00. We all know Sam Rainsy is desperately try to win the election by calling all his opponents killers, and that make the election unfair. He must not be allowed to go unpunished for his crime of defamation. Cambodia has no room for culture of impunity.

I can sense that your twisting words are not different from Hun Sen. Like follower like leader. Like father like son.

You can twist anything you like so long it's legal. The rule of law is the rule of law.

It's just a transitions that all! The shifting from Khmer Rouge to the Hun Sen clans. Make no mistake, this is still the Khmer Rouge era under a new name....... CPP.
Their Modus Operandi hasn't change.

It doesn't matter because everyone loves the new KR, of course except for Ah Khmer-oversea criminals.
