Kem Sokha now claims he had never overtly refused to join a coalition with the other parties ... after imposing his impossible conditions on others

HRP Now Seeks Party Unity

By Seng Ratana, VOA Khmer

Human Rights Party President Kem Sokha said Tuesday competing parties should seek to unite against the ruling Cambodian People’s Party in July’s polls, as political party registration deadline approaches.

His statement comes after nearly a year of failure for the countries three largest competing parties to join together in an effort to defeat the CPP in this year’s general elections.

Kem Sokha said he had never overtly refused to join a coalition with the other parties, including the opposition Sam Rainsy Party and the Norodom Ranariddh Party.

If the parties do not unite now, it will be too late, he said at a press conference Tuesday.

SRP officials did not welcome the declaration, and an NRP spokesman called it a bid to confuse the public.

At least one election monitor said the parties could find other ways of defeating the CPP, which has been in power for nearly 30 years.

Dear belove khmer people,
I would like to express my idea regarding to the politics and economy in the country recently, what is happening and will be going on in the future if this country under the control of Hun Cen and his cronies? as you guys known it very well, under his control and management our country are going to impoverishe, they are selling all of resources (natural and human ) in many ways such as gas, oil, forest, fish, land, and furthermore, they are selling Cambodian young generation of human resource from high educated people to low educated people especially for cambodian woman to work or to do prostitute at abroad through migrant or marriage to the stupid people like Korean and Taiwanes man, and etc. Furthermnore in recenlty, the cambodian peoples are facing with the skyroketing of goods that affecting to the standard of living condition of people. based on these reasons, I would like to ask your guys to join with us to welcome any opposition parties to use people power to kick the Hun Sen's and his cronies out of the government. anyways, all the opposition parties should strongly and stricly focusing on the processing of NEC (National Election Committee), because HunCent, and his cronies like NEC are going to make something fraud relating to the resul of election. however, this concerted action should be done after the result of election.
Cheer,
People Power (Ps)

This issue cannot be pinpoint as government ideological intentions. It is seldomly rely on person involved conscious or subconscious and the path he/she has chosen to lead their life, in particualr, person who has chose to get married in order to live abroad, even if government has strictly controlled law, can not see person involved can put a break on their own decisions - the chance to live abroad is too high stake than risk being enslave in any situation abroad.

the cambodian peoples are facing with the skyroketing of goods that affecting to the standard of living condition of people

That is a global issue and not just in Cambodia. Bangladesh for example, is in much harder position than Cambodia at this moment eventhough they produced enough rice for domestic consumption and being a potatoes export country as well.

all the opposition parties should strongly and stricly focusing on the processing of NEC (National Election Committee), because HunCent, and his cronies like NEC are going to make something fraud relating to the resul of election

Well, the opposition party shall look into constitution and try to push through for certain amendment of election law [similar to democratic world, where senate candidates shall be on the NA election so there would be balance of power from all parties, which in turn would restrict the majority or centre power from ruling party to pass or block any bills as they please].

CPP is the most democratic of all; don't be fool by fakes (such as SRP, HRP, PPP, or whatever).

Too late Kem Sokha, not enough time till the election. You've set impossible conditions in the past. Your declaration now is for publicity only. A united stance on various issues, stopping attacking each other, only turn your gun at the CPP is the only option left because no time to form an alliance.

Kem Sokha will be the biggest Opposition party to come. Hurry and join before it's too late. No one want to stick to an old rusty party that always loses.

Who know a million voted for SRP last year will vote for them again in the next election after they re-installed a gambler as second-in-command?

SRP are good in complaining without offering a way to solve the problem, unlike HRP of Kem Sokha which provide a firm platform for reform, even CPP do not dare to challenge especially in the area of immigration (ask Pen Sovann if you want to know the details), corruption (it hard to believe that gambler is not corrupt), limited term for leader (no one else dare to even talk as they assumed born to rule, this including selt-proclaimed democrats SRP)....

Right, but the SRP will not get the same votes again because they have lost many popular high ranking members, and all the voters will vote for HRP if they will not vote for CPP.

To SRP:

Arrogant will let you down. You do not know for sure whether you can upgrade yourselves from opposition to ruling after the next election.

Be the opposition for more than a dicade is already a big shame and i don't see the prospect of changing your status. Look around in Thailand why thai opposition can grab a victory in a short period of time? you need to assess the way you reaching out to the people, your effectiveness or your people around you. Re-think it before it's too late. Perhaps your 13 year tree remains only trunk and no leaves.

Just to tell you that in the last ten year we had donated our resource to to SRP secretly (for security reason) to see changes in our country, but your party did not deliver it, even within the party. So, bye bye! for now until you're awake.

No surprise, The SRP is not exempt from corruption. The only reason we don't see it much is because they can't get their hand on the money.
