"I am very happy to meet with you all and we will organize our political party structure to join the competition for July general election," Lon Rith told reporters after arrival.
"I will stand for vote in the general election on July 27 and it depends on the Cambodian people to decide whether they like a republican regime or not," he said.
His party activists created the KRP in Cambodia in October 2007and he became president of the KRP, which has the same name as his father regime, "the Khmer Republic."
The Khmer Republic regime led by Lon Nol ruled Cambodia from 1970 to 1975 after Lon Nol came to power in a coup on March 18, 1970.
Lon Rith left Cambodian in 1973 when he was 11 years old. He is an economist in the United States, a press release from his party said.

If Lon Nol is not so corrupted and lack of diplomatic skill and I doubted very much that the Khmer Rouge can take over Cambodia! But who I am to judge when Lon Nol is so superstitious and when he waged war against the enemy and he resorted to consult with the fortune teller before going to war! And of course the element of the Vietcong involvement in helping the Khmer Rouge to destroy Lon Nol government!
I just hope Lon Rith can bring new blood and courage to replace AH HUN MANET for good! I believe for now Lon Rith can’t do much because AH HUN SEN government is a Vietcong puppet government and as long as AH HUN SEN continue to listen to his master and he will stay in power forever!

I cannot see any propect for this Lon Rith to win any vote from Cambodian at all. THe most he can get is 100 votes for the whole country. The point is what making him so attractive from Sam Rainsy? He has nener struggled with Cambodian people both in good time and in bad time. He has never done anything special for Cambodia at all beside of thinking for a easy win. Lon Nil was a Cambodian politician and brother of Prime Minister Lon Nol. While King Norodom Sihanouk was on a trip abroad in Beijing, China, on March 18, 1970, Prince Sirik Matak assisted Prime Minister Lon Nol, in organizing a vote of the National Assembly to depose Siahnouk as head of state and to himself emergency powers.
Lon Nil was in the countryside of Cambodia monitoring the villages when Sihanouk made a public appeal in China for Cambodians to join with the Khmer Rouge and revolt against the government. In Kompong Cham, a group seized Lon Nil, killed him and tore his liver from his stomach. It was then taken into a Chinese restaurant, where the owner was ordered to cook and slice it. It was then served to people in the immediate area.
