More than 200 Khmer Krom people from many villages, who have protested in front of a town hall of Chau Laing commune, Svay Tong district in the Vietnamese province of Moat Chrouk (An Giang) on 7th April, were beaten by the Vietnamese authority.

Representatives from Chi Pheng, Ta An and An Loi villages of Chau Laing commune have said through telephone that the Khmers Krom have built a bridge of 10 metres in length across a creek for crossing to go to work in their farms which located on the other side of the creek.

They’ve said that they’ve just finished transplanting about 30 hectares of their rice farms when, on the 6th of April, the Vietnamese authority came to destroy their bridge to prevent them from crossing to work on their farms. So, they decided to hold a protest to demand to the Chau Laing commune authority to resolve the issue for them. Instead of resolving the issue for them, the Vietnamese authority have used about 300 policemen to throw rocks at the Khmer Krom protesters.

One of the protesters said: “ There were 300 of them who were throwing rocks at about 200 of us and we threw rocks back at them. Some of us were hit and some of them were hit. We want our land back to farm in order to feed our families. Now, we are very poor and have to work for others to earn a living. I am appealing to the United Nations to please help the Khmers Krom because we have suffered enormously under the (Vietnamese) oppression.”

A woman from Ta An village claimed that there were some people who have suffered minor injuries from the clashes between the Khmers Krom and the Vietnamese authority. And about 3pm the protesters have dispersed without obtaining any resolution from the Vietnamese authority.

She said: “the Vietnamese (authority) did not resolve the issue for us, they just telephoned to the commune authority to come down to threaten us.”

Radio Free Asia was unable to obtain any comments from the spokesman of the Vietnamese embassy in Cambodia at the time of this program going to air on Monday the 7th of April.

There will be time that Khmer Krom can't take it any more. Look at East Timore, Kosovo of Serbia they can't tolerate the oppression from its colonizer so they fought back then if the colonizer use crucial forces the UN or the US will step in. Remember, this is not like 50 years, 40 years, 30 years or 25 years ago YOUN will be regretted that the international will be watching them. With modern technologies nowaday the news or all sort of news from internet, fax, newspaper, camera phone or videophone will be reaching international TV immediatley. YOUN, you will be regretted! KHMER KROM also gaining world support too. I am Cambodian, I am fully support my brothers and sisters Khmer Krom. Keep up the good job folks and fellow Khmer Krom. The world will be by your side. The good will prevail! May lord Buddha bless all of you!

My Khmer Krom brother and sister, I have been following the Youn(s) agent in here that pretended to be Khmer and left un-heard of comments that try to turn thing the other way around.

When something is good for our Khmer futures, these agents try to say thing to prevent that. And the best part is they are getting pay doing it.

While we are whole hearted committed to free our Khmer land from these Youn's colonizer.

Next time help me tell them just go back to there home in Hanoi aka Annam.

Thank you.

That's right, those Viet citizens living in Cambodia should be beaten as well for their communist government has done all evil things to our people in Kampuchea Krom. I believe in fighting fire with fire. These damn animals must be brought down to where they belonged. I hate them that much, yes. The damn 2 legged animals in southeast asia are low like trash.

The communist Vietnamese is not that strong. Stand strong with your courage and up to their ugly faces and confront them. Kill them if you must. The devils will only recognize the force of resistance. Fight back with all you have and destroy their yoke. They will retreat. And the Khmer Krom will be victorious. Fight them hard and destroy the invaders - the damn yuons. Don't be afraid of them, they are nothing more than flesh and bone that you can chop.
