Opposition activists arrested for distributing leaflets calling for a demonstration

Three SRP party activists were arrested by the authority when they were distributing leaflets calling people to join the demonstration which will be held on 06 April. The Daun Penh authority arrested these SRP activists on Thursday morning while they were distributing the leaflets, and it also confiscated 400 leaflets. SRP MP Yim Sovann intervened for the release of his party activists, and the trio was released after they promised not to distribute leaflets anymore. Yim Sovann told reporters that holding a demonstration is not illegal, and it is the people’s right. He said that the arrest of SRP activists who were distributing leaflets as a violation of the people’s right.

Leaflets is illegal. Everything must be channeled through the media. Thus, lock them up and throw away the Key. No culture of impunity crap here.

i don't blame the gov't for arresting the bad instigators out there. to the gov't they are just trouble-makers because any gov't in the world would want o stop this kind of bad instigators for peace and orderly. it is questionable about the demonstrators. if it's peaceful, then i don't see why not, but if the instigate violence and problems, then i can see why gov't needs to take action to prevent this violence from happening. sometimes, when you have too many instigators, it's hard to tell them apart from the good cause demonstration. but again, demonstration isn't always bad, though.
