The opposition Sam Rainsy Party blasted statements made by Prime Minister Hun Sen Thursday, calling his remarks to a public gathering in Kratie province earlier this week “a threat to voters.”
Hun Sen told a public gathering that if the people voted for the ruling Cambodian People’s Party “there is no war” and they “do not need to run to the trenches.”
The prime minister made similar remarks to a group of private investors in Phnom Penh this week.
“SRP considers the prime minister’s statement a threat to voters,” the party said in a statement, calling on the authorities to ensure a peaceful election period ahead of July’s general polls.
Government spokesman Khieu Kanharith denied Hun Sen’s statements were a threat.
“Sam Rainsy has said he will review all concession contracts [and] redistribute land, and he accuses young people who support the CPP of being Vietnamese, so he will not be a prime minister for national unity,” Khieu Kanharith said.
In recent weeks, political parties have begun to increase their political rhetoric, hoping to sway voters on Election Day.
Im Francois, who is responsible for election issues at the Center for Social Development, said these were only words by Hun Sen.
However, he said, according to the law, people must go to vote peacefully.

It is of course a threat to the voters. Hun Xen right now is at his wits'end in persuading people to vote for him, tha's why resort to use threat instead. If he was not installed in power by Vietnam, a base, arrogant and vulgar man like him will never have a chance to hold such a highest position in a million years. If what Hun Xen just said is not a threat, what else can be a threat? Can one imagine how a ruler of country dare to declare war aganst his own people? He has no brains of ethical morals to think that if he loses, it is his
own evil deed that pull him down. It's about time perish likewisew!

Politics of fear and distortion/manipulation has been professionally operated by Mr. Hun Sen and his cronies. On behalf of Khmers for the progress, this operation is not solely mechanized by Khmers, it must be by the conspiracy of foreigners to keep Khmers savaged forever.
Foreigners have no good intention for Khmers at all, and it is good chance for them to harm and destruct Khmers through few stupid leader such as Hun Sen.
Khmers peoples have to think about themselves, and think in mind that "we are silent, we die only and uselessly, but if we are waking up we can have two options: live and die. If we die, die usefully".
Hun Sen and his cronies are pushing Cambodian peoples stuck in the corner now.

Finally Hun Sen and Youns start to see reality comming to them.

In a full democratic country, the Prime Minister cannot make such as speech which is totally irresponsible. He need to resign for his stupidity. He is fully a stupid Prime minister. He can only rule animal farm but not a civilised Nation. Areak Prey
What are you talking about, fool (6:40)? PM is talking truthfully as he always did. That is Cambodia is very prone to war. Every time we changed regime, there were war, destructions, and lost of lifes.

Hun Xen is the Terrorist of his own country while he's the Prime Minister of Cambodia.

ecnomics is roasting his system and power and also he fear to lose voter in coming election.that why he try to scare our people the name of WAR that used to khmer in KR's regime was not respected to Viet nam demand to be under them control us ( our land and cambodian).
