Cambodian officials joined Islamic leaders in Kuwait this week in a forum aimed at improving economic development and peace, officials said Wednesday.

Nan Sy, Cambodian ambassador to Brunei, which is an Islamic sultanate, said both Muslim and non-Muslim leaders “talked about how to promote the economy and peace in the region and the world.”

The Fourth World Islamic Economic Forum began April 29 and ends May 1, gathering political leaders, businessmen, scholars and other officials from more than 60 countries.

Nan Sy said by phone he represented Cambodia and gave talks on tourism, business opportunities and infrastructure.
