Phnom Penh - Aid for China's earthquake victims was pouring into Cambodia's many Chinese associations from businesses, Chinese-language schools and individuals, the associations and local media reported Tuesday.
The English-language Mekong Times newspaper reported a single donation of 301,000 dollars from the China, Hong Kong and Macau Expatriate and Business Association of Cambodia delivered to the Chinese embassy Monday.
The Khmer-China Association said it gave around 210,000 dollars, and the Foundation for Promoting Chinese Culture in Cambodia donated around 22,000 dollars, which was also delivered to the China embassy in Phnom Penh.
China's official news agency Xinhua said Cambodian politicians, the royal family, businesses and individuals had given a total of 1.17 million dollars in aid since the earthquake struck.
Cambodia and China have strong ties that go back centuries, and a large percentage of the Cambodian population claims at least some Chinese blood.
China is Cambodia's main investor and donor, and former king Norodom Sihanouk maintains a royal residence in Beijing, where he spends months out of every year. The octogenarian credits his remission from colon cancer to Chinese doctors.

Poor Cambodia managed to raise $1Million dollars for China's quake.
While the CPP government failed to see it own poor Cambodian that are homeless through force land eviction, and are facing rising cost of rice and feul price.
This proof Cambodia's PM Ah Kvar Hun Sen as leader is half blind. I think he should be made full blind. That way we can't comments that he still have one eye sight left!.
Charity must begin at home, not oversea. A blind man can't see bad things happening under his nose.
Stupid Cambodian/Chinese or Cambodian people alike who donate their money for the China. Why wastes their money to help the big Communist China; where, Cambodian people at home are starving. They think they're Chinese and place their children in Chinese school. Why don't they go to live in China? The Chinese won't accept them as their own. The same as Ah Kwak Hun Sen and Ah Play Boy Sihanouk. They help Chinese rather than Helping their own people.
If Hun Xen doen't do this, he might has no place to live after he's by any bad chance kicked out of Cambodia. Hun Xen can survive in China, not in Vietnam, because Vitnam will surely kill him, just like Dab Chhuon killed the men who built his house.
When I said 'charity must begin at home' I don't mean that we must not contribute charity at all, but one million dollars from a very very poor country like Cambodia, whose people are also suffering from lack of food, to give to China is too much.

9:17PM,
You're a ignorance freak!!! Get your head out of your stinky ass. Don't worry about the Chinese but the Viet; they are colonizing Cambodia at the full swing now. Wake up fool!!! Khmer mentality like you get us into shit hole like today.
9:17,
Go to school. You needed it!
9:08, revise, charity begins at heart. You don't have to be blind to have sincerity.
11:08PM, this is a quote from the Bible, dude, it's not mine. You might not fully understand this quote. This quote sounds similiar to the Buddhism's. Here's what it means: Before one could contribute to anyone else, one should feed those who are one own's close relatives first such as one's parents, wife, son, daughter, etc.
Ah Pot chea knea!
What? Ah Khmer-Yuon is begging for money too? Shame, shame, shame!
Ladies and Gentlemen, comment @3:00 AM is the arrogant and babaric voice of the Viet-born parasite and plunderer as he himself had proclaimed here all over KI-Media...not to mention his other gang members such as the self-proclaimed Free-thinker and his clans also known as KJE...
The readers can judge for themselves of the true nature and colors of the Viet's parasite here on KI-Media...
We must keep a close eye on Ah Khmer-Yuons to keep them from stealing the aids moneys for Victims of natural disaster, never trust them (lowlife and shameless people).
The Chinese have been generous donors to Cambodia. It's pathetic and disgraceful that some Cambodians are too selfish to want to help those who have helped them in the past.
Hey 12:06PM, Chinese have helped you, Pol Pot, and Sihanouk; they have never helped me. I remember this: "One should treat the others as one expect oneself to be treated by the others."
