“Our adversaries blame us for discussing about this date (7 January), they say that we should forget the past … If we forget it, then it is useless to judge the Khmer Rouge leaders, we might as well free Khieu Samphan and Ieng Sary” - Hun SenCandidate to a new PM mandate, Hun Sen sent taunts to his political adversaries on Tuesday 20 May, during the handing of diplomas to students.
First, the CPP PM candidate announced his intention to reserve under secretary of state positions for SRP defectors in the ministry of Social Affairs, Defense and Culture. “We’ll wait for the election results to determine the position of secretaries of state,” Hun Sen added. He also announced that the president of the Intpat Borey party would be nominated as secretary of state to the ministry of Cults, and that the president of Khmer Women Party would become under-secretary of state of the ministry of Women Affairs, in order to thank them for joining the CPP.
Hun Sen also ridiculed divisions among the opposition, citing the SRP, HRP and NRP by saying: “For those who do not support the CPP, chose well among the three (opposition parties),” Hun Sen said in irony.
Hun Sen also commented on the survey which indicated that 75% of the Cambodian people believe that “the government is moving in the right direction,” whereas this number was only 68% in 2006. “75% of the population is with us, the 3 opposition parties share the remaining 25%,” he gloated.
Hun Sen also took advantage of the 20 May (Day of Anger) celebration to remind about 7 January, the date of the fall of Pol Pot’s regime. “Our adversaries blame us for discussing about this date (7 January), they say that we should forget the past … If we forget it, then it is useless to judge the Khmer Rouge leaders, we might as well free Khieu Samphan and Ieng Sary,” he said sarcastically.
During each election year, the CPP stresses on the 7 January event.

right direction doesn't mean they would vote for cpp, i say the govt is going in the right direction too but i don't vote for cpp
Do not vote for CPP!
Do not vote for CPP!
Do not vote for CPP!
It's easy to speak like this when Hun Sen's henchmen strike fear into each and every person who takes this not-so-anonymous survey. It's easy for him to insult and use childish arguments against the opposition. He won't be slapped with a defamation lawsuit. If someone were to do that they would have their family murdered or beaten.
Oh so so easy to be a one eyed dictator... It's living he dream...
Hun Sen is so afraid of his Vietnamese and Chinese handlers...
Mr Hun Sen, why can Vietnamese freely enter into Cambodia, perform demonstrations and such while Cambodians can not do the same thing in Vietnam? Do you not fight for Khmers at home and abroad? Do you have no leverage against Vietnam? Why can you not tell Vietnam that their Vietnamese people in Cambodia can no longer have Hanoi day celebrations while Cambodians can not celebrate a Buddhist festival...
You sir are a bitch.
The KR had destroyed Cambodia cultural, physical and human resource, making it too weak and a pretext for Vietnam to "come in and save " Cambodian people.
In fact it was not an intervention for humanitarian reason. It was purely a military and political intervention.
It was not for sure an intervention called by the so called United Front for Salvation " so called created by Heng Samrin, Chea Sim and Hun Sen.
Even without this so called United Front, Vietnam would have come in Cambodia...
This Front was created by Vienam. There's nothing to be grateful to Vietnam, to the CPP,to Hun Sen, Heng Samrin and Chea Sim.
All Cambodian youth must know this historic truth.
Mr. Hun Sen. You could be a hero. You could fix everything that is wrong with Cambodia. What will be your everlasting impression when you depart this world? You are not immortal... You know that when you die, you'll be known in history as a corrupt, puppet, strongman, authoritarian ruler, a scoundrel. Someone who took the wrong parts of socialism and threw away the good parts.
You're not dead yet. There's still time to be one of the few people who actually did something right in Cambodia's history. Don't you want to leave that kind of legacy? Don't you want to be an honorable man?
Please I beg you. Sever your chains revolt against your masters. Turn Cambodia into a true democracy!
The 7 January 1979 was just the date of the collapse of the KR regime and a transition to another communist regime that made Cambodian people under Vietnam yoke, forcing them to work as LABOR SLAVES for the INFAMOUS K5 Strategic Plan.
Many hundreds of thousands Cambodian people had died under the K5 Plan which lasted from 1982 to 1989. Why Hun Sen and the CPP never mentioned about the K5 Plan?
Cambodian students must learn about the 7 Junary 1979 and the K5 Plan.
This is when a group of fools ruling the country, and the educated become
their lickspittles.
7 th jenuary was fool all khmer that YUON eberated to save yyuon under KHMER rourge .there are alot YUON member was hided in POL POT regime .

why some dumb people suggested that cambodia should forget the past or dark age of the ruthless KR era? stupid, people all over the world have history and can learn from it. why try to bury or forget that? that's not very smart, whoever you are. i hope you are not a leader you claimed to be because only ignorant leader say something like that!!!
khmer people can think and talk for themselves; i don't think they need your stupid advice or something like that. they vote whoever they think can unite, can bring prosperity, peace, unity, development, etc..., to cambodia. i'm sure they won't vote for trouble-makers, you know who you are! you're just a trouble-maker, a bully. you know they have law against bully, now. so stay out of trouble. good luck!
cambodia is moving to a one party rule. if there is no opposition (cpp is trying to get rid of opposition) then the ruling party does whatever they like eg change constitution, abolish monarchy etc.
Khmer let's rise up, rise up against these foolish, selfishness, and against all these bad role model like hun sen, cpp, NRP, and our neighbor vietnam, and thailand.
Unite, and live, separation and forever fall.
Peace, and may God bring justice, peace to cambodia, and cambodian.
i think it's only fair as politicians from both parties attack each other. this is common during election time as both parties are contesting for office. god bless khmer.

10:18 AM;
If you are seriously thinking that Cambodia is moving to one party rule then sorry to say that you are totally wrong.
SRP gained strength [number of seats in N/A] since the past 3 elections, however, they still cannot find a right formular to full accelearate themselves in power.
FUNCIPEC has lost ground but surely they will not go anywhere yest for the time being even if after this election.
Surely HRP - the new comer will be there for a while whether or not they could win seat[s] in N/A.
Overall, there are many opposition parties ever contest in the past and present election
Thanks CPP for letting me live and read this blogger.
