Samdech Decho Hun Sen (pictured) has publicly said that an unnamed lady, who stole someone’s husband, has insulted him by saying that she will gouge out his other eye, if her husband wins an election and she has a chance to return back to Cambodia. Despite this, Samdech Hun Sen said that he is trying to eliminate a culture of “when the tide swells, the fish eat the ants, and when the tide recedes the ants eat the fish” (revenge) - meaning that he does not wish to harbour any revenge against anyone.
Speaking at an inauguration ceremony of an Islamic mosque in Russei Keo district near Phnom Penh on the 15th of May, Mr. Hun Sen said that, according to his intelligence, “there is a lady who stole someone’s husband who said that if her husband wins the election and when she returns to back to Cambodia, she will gouge out another eye of Ah Sen (the contemptible Sen)”.
Samdech Hun Sen did not name the lady in question. However, many political observers believe that he was referring to Mrs. Ouk Phalla, second wife of Prince Ranariddh, who is now living in exile with the prince in a foreign country.
Samdech Hun Sen said that he is sad to hear that someone has insulted him in this manner and, as he is also a human being, he regrets to see such a lady (a husband stealer) insulting him in such a manner. He said that in his entire life he has painfully endured and has survived many vicious attempts on his life and sometimes someone spread vicious rumours around that he was already dead. And there was an attempt on my life with rocket attacks in Siem Reap (1998), and now someone wanted to gouge out his other eye, he said. Samdech Hun Sen added that these sort of language means that the person wanted to take his life even before she takes power.

That's complete lie; Hun Xen never lets anyone get in his way. He's the most revegeful man on this planet earth. The only person he cannot get revenge with is himslf. This a rhetoric of a fool.

I have heard of that revengeful Khmer phrase before and now I understand how revengeful the Khmer minds really are. I agree with Ah Loke Hun Sen for this one time that being vindictive is not the way to go. However, someone said that Ah Loke Hun Sen is the most revengeful person in Cambodia. His troops killed the opponents savagely and he regularly use insulting vindictive words on people.

Unless you are not human beings living on earth, Mr Areak Prey, you cannot abolish revenge or hatred. Revenge or hatred exists since the human race exists. Where there are human beings there are all kinds of problems. The chance is that you or I resort to get a revenge or hatred or not. If revenge and hatred can be abolished, the world will never go to war. What I just said does not mean that we the decent people must play a game of a tit for tat. But if it need be, we sould play it.
Revenge was the foudation of Pol Pot regime. Society of Khmer has been filled with revenge, unresolved issues. Pol Pot regime was seen as the payback time on society. It has origin in the way we govern our country. Lack of justice is the main cause. Justice never exist in Cambodia. Reform the court, a lot of revenge and killing will go away.

I agree that hatre and revenge are still being used by many backward countries and backward societies. At present, many civilised and economic advanced countries have abolished this kind of revenge already by a new methode of Amnesty. We must allow people to accept their own fault and their own crimes in front of their victims and their society. If the crime they have committed was an economic crime such as stealing national resourses, National assets etc.. THe new authority should allow them to return back those stolen properties at their own will for a National reconcilliation. We cannot go back to Pol Pot regime anymore. It's is hypocritical of Hun Sen to preach tolerance here. He said he wanted to eliminate a culture of revenge. Everybody knew that he ordered the tortures and killings of 100 of Ranariddh's supporters after the 1997 coup. Some had their eyes gouged out (Krouch Yoeum), some had a burning tyre hanging from their neck (Thlang Sovannarith) and some had their limbs chopped off before being killed at Kombol where the KR Tribunal is located. Hun Sen was also a wife stealer too. He stole Khay Prasith's wife, Pisith Pilika. When his wife, Bun Rany, knew about the affairs she hired the hitmen to kill her in 1999. Hun Sen is the most revengeful and brutal person.
A man with a foxy nature forgets to mention that he too stole someone's wife. For him, a man with tons of revenge wanting to preach tolerance, sounds ridiculous.
