During the 5-year war (1970-1975) in which they were responsible, the “Lonnolians” (with Long Boret at their helm) made unheard of efforts to make the world believe that N. Sihanouk was definitively rejected by the entire nation and by the entire Khmer People, and that, fighting against their (dirty) “Khmer Republic” in Cambodia, there were only Vietcong and North Vietnamese (sic!!).The historical Truth was as follows:
1- Between March 1970 and 1973, there was a majority of Sihanoukist-Khmer people who were fighting against the Lonnolians, the Americans and the blue South Vietnamese. The PR of China did not give arms nor money (these were given to the Khmer Rouges only) to the Sihanoukist Resistant Fighters who were militarily trained and armed by the North Vietnamese in conformance to the orders given by my great friends, Prime Minister Pham Van Dong and General Vo Nguyen Giap.
2- Between 1973 and 1975, the Khmer Rouge people (Polpotians, IengSaryists, NuonCheaians) put into application, “from A to Z,” their killing “Program” against Sihanoukists who remained “faithful to the end” to their King-Father.
3- The Lonnolians (with Long Boret at their helm) saw, in 1975, the crumbling – like a card castle – of their coward propaganda in which, in Cambodia, the only enemies of the “ Khmer Republic” were the Vietcong and North Vietnamese, because the historical winners were Khmer people of pure breed, (they were) Rouges (communists) but Khmer people.

LonNol and its clan got rid of Sihanouk so that they can get rid of Vietcongs from Cambodia, but they failed. As a result, millions of live were lost. Thus, LonNol and its clan are responsible for their action, as simple as that.

I'm speechless about King father attitude to history, shift blame, take no responsibilities, I don't know what kind of a King or leader he is if he is one. SihanoukVarman should have stayed in France after March 1970, out of Khmer PoliSick. Unfortunately, the man was psychologically gone insane, because his ultimate dream was to be permanently named chief of state for life, therefore he mentally knew only "Revenge!".
In fact, the thing called Sihanouk does not respect from the Khmer people because he is not sdach Khmer. If he is a sdach Khmer he would have been staying with Khmer people through thick and thin, no matter what has happened. why do you need to blame your king. why do not you try to understand the environment all around the country during that time. If you are a leader which way will you choose to avoid your country from the war. I think my king or no our king had try his best to avoid the country from the war. But at one time there was no choice better than his decision. I think if Lon Nol did not overthrow him from power, there will had no war in the kingdom.
