Prime minister Hun Sen showed an optimistic forecast claiming that Cambodia will not face food shortage, unlike a number of other countries, because 85% of Cambodians are farmers. Hun Sen made this remark during his visit for a foundation stone installation at the Wat Tomnub pagoda located in Batheay district, Kampong Cham province in the morning of 30 April. Hun Sen said that a number of countries are seriously facing food shortage. But, for Cambodia, such problem does not occur because Cambodia is a farming country which produces rice, and more than 85% of the population are farmers, therefore, it is certain that there will not be any food shortage. Hun Sen added that a number of countries are planting crops, but they take use the products for something else, like turning cereal into bio-fuels for vehicles. Hun Sen said that, while the rain is pouring, this shows that the rainy season is here and farmers must be ready to plant their crops on time.

this fool is blind both physically and spiritually; he won't see anything beyond something looks rosy on the top. It might be true if he said about the farmers in the 50-60's when I was in my youth. But these days, during his era, things have turn upside down. Could some old folks imagine back to the days when were young? It is of course true that things must change and we cannot turn the clock back. But things should change for a better, not for a worse and worse like this. Question why? Because our country has continuously been under the control of some immoral rulers.

Khmer farmer already face thhree era's
-# 1-- King had givan and ruled farmer was healthy and no complain and happy cross the country.but one thing that behinding ,35 % of khmer rice was feed veit cong cross khmer border.

cambodia can only solve social problems by facing it not hiding it. it will take everybody's help e.g. gov't, charity, ngo, etc... it is like saying there is no crime in cambodia or thailand or vietnam or anywhere else on the planet for that matter. this is just the facts of life. the only difference is one take the initiative to do something about it instead of just ignoring the facts. someone got to do something. if just stand there and watch, then do not expect the problem to go away by itself, especially problems that are facing society at large.
