Krall's performance will benefit Caring For Cambodia, a charity that supports schools, teachers, students and kindergartens in the country

Canadian Grammy-winning jazz vocalist Diana Krall gives an exclusive pre-Formula One concert in Singapore, September 27th, 2008, Keppel Island, from 7.30 pm.

It will be a unique occasion to help Caring For Cambodia, CFC, the fabulous charity founded and continuously supported by Bill and Jamie Amelio. Caring for Cambodia (CFC). Today, CFC supports more than 5,600 students, 90 teachers, five schools, a teacher training center, and the first three kindergartens in Cambodia.

William (Bill) Amelio is President and CEO of the world's third largest personal computer manufacturer Lenovo, the world's third largest computer manufacturer after Hewlett-Packard and Dell. The Lenovo Group Limited has headquarters in Beijing, People's Republic of China, and Morrisville NC, USA, and it is incorporated in Hong Kong.

Diana Krall was born 1964 in Nanaimo BC, Canada. She had classical piano lessons from the age of four and she played in her high school jazz band, but mostly her inspiration came from her father, a stride piano player with an extensive record collection. "I think Dad has every recording Fats Waller ever made," she said, "and I tried to learn them all." Krall attended the Berklee College of Music on a music scholarship in the early '80s, and then moved to Los Angeles, where she lived for three years before moving to Toronto.

By 1990, she was based in New York, performing with a trio and singing. After releasing her first album on Justin Time Records, Krall was signed to GRP for her second, Only Trust Your Heart and transferred to its Impulse! division for her third, a Nat "King" Cole Trio tribute album called All for You, Love Scenes followed in 1997, and in late 1998, she issued the seasonal Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. When I Look in Your Eyes followed in 1999. Whatever notoriety Krall had earned over the years for her work exploded with this album, which became an international best-seller and earned her a Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Performance. It also was the first jazz album to be nominated for Album of the Year in twenty-five years.

Krall's crossover success followed her as she performed in the Lilith Fair the following year and her songs cropped up everywhere from episodes of Sex in the City to films like Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. In 2001 she released The Look of Love. The album topped the Billboard charts and went quintuple platinum in Canada, the first by a Canadian jazz artist to do so. The Look of Love also helped Krall win three Juno awards in 2002, taking home awards for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and Best Vocal Jazz Album of the Year. Two years later, Krall issued The Girl in the Other Room. Covering a few standards, this album included original material for the first time in her career. Returning to the large ensemble standards approach of her previous album, Krall released From This Moment On in 2006.

Charity can help directly to Cambodian people. If you give money to government and wait for their reaction, only 50% of your donation can reach poor Cambodian while the rest stay in Officer pockets.

It's still the same. it depends on who is trustworthy enough to handle the money?

I once met a Khmer doctor at New Paradise Restaurant in Long Beach. He came to visit his son and daughter who were studying at UCLA. He told me about the corruption in Phnom Penh. Here was what he said: "Before, we Khmer used to say The head cooked, eat the head; the tail cooked, eat the tail=chaen kbal, si kbal; chaen kantuy, si kuntuy, but right now they don't use these words anymore. They like to say Eeat whatever part is cooked=chaen trongna si trongneng.

Anyway, thank a great deal to the Canadian singer who is both beautiful and generous.

Dear Diann Krall what a good heart you are! I am very proud of your heart feeling toward my destitude Khmer nation. Your sympathy heart feeling is worthier then any objects that you could offer my Khmer people. At the mean time (if you could only)PLS.communicate with HUN SEN GOV'T to use this Funds appropriatly as your plan, otherwise it will end up in their pockets - secondly Vietnameses Immigrants issue in Cambodia, these Immigrants creating more problem in the country. Please tell Mr. HUN SEN about wrong thing for this image in Cambodia, then should report to Canadian GV'T as well about its, what Canadian GV'T could do to help Cambodian nation. The main problem that leads Cambodians to apoverty ditch are:
1- The dictatershhip GV'T's ruler
2- The coruptions GV'T
3- The illegal Immigrands(Vet..)mainly, they're living as parasites such a TAPWORMS(les tenias)inside Khmer intestins. I do know itsn't part of you project but I felt that I should have to tall you anyways. May god bless you and Kmer nation!

It is a fine exemple of how other human race cares for the intellectual development of young cambodians. Many NGO's have assisted our disavantage cambodians.

It is time for those corrupts individuals removed from government position ie Tao Seng Huor ....etc out of power. Most of khmer buisinessmen are sick of.

Only people power can make change happened, unless CPP become indepedent and adapt the change.

Thank you Dianna!!!
