Political killings start again with the approaching election

Civil Society Condemns Pre-Election Violence

Members of Cambodia's human rights agencies said Monday they were worried about violence in the pre-campaign period, with some candidates already being intimidated, threatened, and, in a few cases, killed.

The violence was contributing to a "political crisis," according to the Cambodian Human Rights Action Committee, a coalition of 21 civic groups.

"Political killings, intimidations and harassments have been rising, in particular, in the remote areas," the coalition said.

At least five political activists were killed between January and May, the coalition said.

there will be political killings as long as a vicious dictator like Hun Xen is still in power. Hun Xen must stay in power until he fulfils his promises of giving some land to Vietnam.

Personally don't think it is appropriate to call the situation as Political Crisis when there's still a government, an opposition in the NA which has not, currently or offcially, resolved.

Political Crisis is referred to as when there's a stalemate/deadlock to enable any party who won the election to form a government.

Vote" NO" to HUN SEN!!!

To let him fullfil his another 25 years agreement already signed, is certainly put cambodians under very deep risk of VN's invasion and diadvantages of current global economy, where cambodia can achieve a lot more for a better civilised country.

Nonsense, if you don't provoked people in their town and village, there is no reason for them to intimidate or kill anyone. The key is to know where you are at all time, and listen to what they are telling you.

no political killing is allowed; cambodia has laws to protect its citizens' rights to protest, etc...

Law doesn't do crap. What has to happened is Ah Spam Rainxy to stop forcing people to vote for him by going through they town and village to disturb their peace or to mess up their town and village by deterring tourists with his stupid and ugly signs and posters all over the places.
