Since Wednesday 11 June, severe storms threaten Cambodia. They are the consequence of a low pressure system located in the south of Indochina and they will persist until Saturday. The ministry of water resources called on Cambodians to be cautious.
Among those who are affected are those living the northwest and southeast provinces of the country, as well as around Phnom Penh. “This low pressure will bring in a lot of rain, and thunders at sea, along the coast, and mostly along the Cardamom Mountain chain,” said Lim Kien Hor, minister of water resources, in his press communiqué.
The ministry is concerned about flooding and accidents caused by lightning. It also advised fishermen to be extremely cautious.
