The US government donated 31 trucks to Cambodia's armed forces Monday, in what officials called a sign of increasing cooperation.
The military relationship between US and Cambodia was on an improving track, said Piper Campbell, the US Embassy's charge d'affaires.
The donation of 31 GMC cargo trucks, part of a larger allocation, was part of the overall improvement between the two countries over the last two to three years, she said.
The trucks were not new, she said, but American trucks are built to last, and the GMCs still had a lot of value in them.
Gen. Meoung Samphan, secretary of state for the Ministry of Defense, said this was the first time the US had given such a gift of trucks to Cambodia, and he appealed to other countries to make such contributions.
"If we can get donations, our national budget for the military will spend less," he said.

Thank you to the US government that donated 31 trucks to my Country,No matter new or used the kingdom of Cambodia will not refuse.Thank you!!! and God bless you.
Yep!
And hope they don't misused it to transport Ah Khmer-Yuon back to Vietnam. Let them march back, instead. They are not worth the fuel price.
Nope, you fucking Viet/Yuon-born parasite @4:28 AM that pretend to be Khmer thinking that Yuon/Viet and ah funcking dog HUN SEN are Khmer master and Khmer is Viet/Yuon slave must be castrated and have your dick fed to the Viet cancerous black dog!
Viet/Yuon go home!
You viet must learn by heart the universal language by now:
"The world sees and knows you Viet true color already"!
Give the Big brother oil, in returns we trained CPP to be more effective killer. And long live CPP for another mellenium!
can the USA also help cambodia to build modern infrastructure like highways, roadways, airports to accommodate 747s jets and long-haul flights, etc..., also habitat for humanity can help to build houses for poor, disadvantaged cambodian families everywhere. khmer-american friendship forever. cambodia loves america. god bless cambodia.
Are you sure that these truck still working. They promise use truck, but these really old, look like dinosaur trucks. Look at the guy on the top photos he trying to start the engine desperately.
Let's hope these trucks are not junks!
When I was at CMAC (Cambodian Mine Action Centre) the Americans gave us several "used" ambulances which, according to my more expert subordinates, turned out to be junks.
Why can't the rich Americans give us brand new trucks? The running costs for used US made trucks (consuming more fuel than new ones), their repair, and the corruption this repair will generate, will cost our poor national budget a fortune. And where are the spare parts? To be imported from America? More opportunities for corruption?
Again, US-made Cheroke jeeps given to CMAC comsumed more fuel than jeeps made in other countries.
Rather used trucks than nothing?

US GV run out of Junke space in USA, though they find a nation despiratly need and fit to the junks sfuff, anything is good for Hun Sen, he is the (best enamy of USA). I beleived Cambodian 50%remaining forest will disapared in a bling eye with these trucks.
Save Cambodian forest!
USA, has to fulfill a long term commitment this time. The US can have an ally in cambodia that can strategically keep both China and Vietnam influences in check for the regional balance in Asia. We do not need a completely Chinese-dominated Cambodia, nor do we need an Indochina dominated by Vietnam that is supported by the US.
A federation of Indochina will destabilize Southeast Asia and could turn other Asean countries toward China side to counter the American-supported Indochina. The best policy is a to have a strong middle-path Cambodia that could sway to American side in a moment's notice, that is also an assurance/buffer for other Asean countries so that they do not have to be concerned with a rising Vietnam and the feeling that America is abandoning old allies.
A strong and independent Cambodia is the key to assure that no regional power can be consolidated to the detriment or deterioration of America's interests in Aisa. US can gradually build trust and close relationship with Cambodia. Let China provide the money, and let America build a strong Cambodian military.
US cannot fail the second time around in Southeast Asia.
God bless America and Cambodia!
LAO MONG HAY !
Don't you know how to say Thank you instead of whinning and complaining. If your people doesn't want the trucks just say no .
Mr./Ms 1:34PM
Can't the rich America give anything brand new at all? Or beggars have no choice?
Is that aid made out of agape?
LAO Mong Hay, Hong Kong
Hell Dr. Lao, worse come to worse, we can always melted it down later and turned it into a railroad track. Thus, it can't be all that bad.
Thank for the USA to donate those trucks helping Cambodia. Cambodia need american present in its country. Please take more in deal and we thank for helping. God bless you USA.
I am khmer Thank you,God bless U.S.A.
Do you think American government is rich? Do you know how many trillion of dollars American owe to the world?
Do you think American Armore vehicles that were sent to Iraq and Afganistan are new? Nope, they're all old ones too. I see with my own two eyes. They used the old GM truck with old engine and chasis. Then build the armore body around them to prevent road side bomb. So my friends, American is not rich anymore and I hope Ah Kwak Hun Sen don't use it to transport illigal drugs and logs.
But Why the US helps to strenghen Ah Kwak where he commits killing to his own people and opponents?.
Do you know Ah Kwak gets the truck from the American taxpayers like me? I paid a lot of taxes back to Uncle Sam every year and uncle Sam helps Ah Kwak to get stronger in power.
Do you know why Cambodia is poor? because Ah Kwak doesn't collect taxes into government. He collects taxes into his own pocket. Whereas people in the US like me, paid 35% of taxes.
Dr LAO,the chinese's food lover !
These trucks are the surplus in our arsenal. They are almost new. They are like the car that belong to the old rich people. They may be 10 years old or older but their mileage are very low.Beside, why you do you want brand new anyway huh ?These trucks are very reliable and much much better than the chinese's made which are usually substandard.
South east Asia, especially CAMBODIA, Some of you had made a good comment on our Country where should we stand? of course we need helpe from the supper power helping us. I just wanted to comment between China & USA; as we're well aware of USA is a rich nation but not any more, many of Khmer in USA have short vision on this because they enjoyed simply freedom nothing else. Of course dear to the future US GV will embrace The Indochina for economic reason, perhaps milltary as well if the relation will be appropriate. Cambodia independence not trustworthy with the the US GV because US's GV leaders change every time(remember befor 1970 (Remember! Cabodian white band Troupers they are all got killed why?). CHINESE GV however the leader is stable, when they do busenes they are more genuine focussing mainly on busenes there is no spiritual religious involvement in the process, another thing is our Country has always a good relation with China for thousand years, and our independence will be expectable. For either reasons Khmer could not certainly be able to stay or chose a midle path these two supper power won't allowed us to do so; my choice is 1) China, 2)is USA
To 11:03PM
Your concept of the world power is outdated! The USA and China conflict can never happen because of economic reason! China will not do anything in the way of the US and the US will not do anything in the way of China!
It is amazing to know that after the US defeated in Vietname and the China and US were cooperating in defeating the Vietcong occupation of Cambodia!
Please just remember that the world has many moving parts and if you really understand all the moving part and you can easily manipulate to your advantage!
Wait a minute 12:08 am. United States was not defeated in vietnam ever.Look ! what country was bombed almost back to the stone age pal ?.We were withdrawing from vietnam's war because we respected our democracy.People at that time thought that it was a wrong war.Buddy !With all the might that we had ,we can annihilate yuon in just a week.Hey ! we defeated the mighty GERMANY and the imperial of JAPAN.
To 1:20AM
I know the US won the war but lost the battle and no there is point to prove anything beyond that okay!
Hey! The US has the option to use the A-bomb on the Vietcong to end the Vietname war but the US didn't want to and there must be a reason why!
From 1:51AM
Darn it! I meant to say that the US won the battle but lost the war to the Vietcong and there is no point in trying to prove anything beyond that okay!
mr usa, please help train cambodia, too. cambodia loves america. god bless.
This is about donates the trucks to people of Cambodia,Not about the war.Thank you U.S.A
