Adopting anti-corruption legislation, dealing with land conflicts and improving social welfare were discussed by 10 political parties at a forum hosted by a group of organizations Friday.
Representatives of all the national election's competing parties, excluding the ruling Cambodian People's Party, and around 100 voters attended the forum in Phnom Penh.
Representatives of each party promised voters to follow-up on the promises they made for each of the three issues.
Each party explained in six-minute blocks their plans for dealing with each topic.
"There are many things that the CPP has left until now, but the Norodom Ranariddh Party has three priorities," said NRP spokesman Muth Chantha. Those include passing a long-awaited anti-corruption law, resolving the growing problem of land conflicts and addressing rising prices, he said.
Human Rights Party representative Keat Sokhun said the party would adopt anti-corruption legislation, provide property licenses and take better control of the national budget.
Kravang Daron, president of the Khmer Anti-Poverty Party, promised to decrease poverty, adopt the anti-corruption law and provide free medical treatment for the poor.
Friday's was the third forum held with 10 political parties. The first dealt exclusively with anti-corruption legislation, which has been in a draft stage for a decade, and the second dealt with putting more women in politics.

It is funny how the NRP, HRP, and Khmer Anti-Poverty Party...never show a clear plan how they would go about in solving those issues! Give the Cambodian people the nut and bolt of how they are going to tackle the issue!
Fucken empty promise all over again! Oh well! Having good intention is one thing but to carry out feel good policy which destroy the interest of Cambodian must be stopped! Please don't be like the Khmer Rouge who claimed to do good for Cambodia but their method of doing it make all of them as the prisoners in Cambodian history! It is such a shame!
there ought to be a mock debate in cambodia during election on anti-corruption law, the term limit law in a real democratic way. whoever want o restrict this freedom has a lot of explaining to do.
The best thing for each party to do is to post their detail plan to address issue in Cambodia on their website so that voter can assess who to vote for properly.
Talking to a small number of people will not help anyone.
It is good that parties start to adopt this approach for better understanding and policy's platform.
It is time that democracy put into practice, rather than the fake one of majority rule.

People, don't care about policy platform shit, Ah Pleu (12:31). What they want to know is who is going to get them free medical care and where do they get the money from? They want to know who is going to give them money to send they kid to school, and where the money come from? They want to know who is going to create good job for them, and where does that job came from ....
