Boonsang: Only military-related issues to be discussed at border meeting

BANGKOK, July 19 (TNA) - Thailand's Supreme Commander Gen. Boonsang Niempradit said Saturday he would confer only on militarily-related issues with Cambodian Defence Minister Tea Banh when they meet early next week.

Gen. Boonsang has been assigned by Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej to lead the Thai delegation to Monday's session of the Thai-Cambodian General Border Committee (GBC) at Sa Kaeo on the Thai-Cambodian border to discuss issues concerning the Preah Vihear temple situation with Cambodia.

The talks will be held as troop movements from both countries are raising the level of armed readiness on both sides of the border in the vicinity of the 11th century temple which was awarded World Heritage site status by UNESCO earlier this month.

Speaking on a Bangkok radio station, Gen. Boonsang said he could not yet say whether the Thai troops stationing near Preah Vihear will be withdrawn as requested by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, in a diplomatic note sent to his Thai counterpart.

"It is better to wait for the outcome of the meeting first," Gen. Boonsang said, noting that . "the Thai military will not employ violence to solve this problem."

Instead, the military would use peaceful means in solving the border crisis.

Gen. Boonsang said he had spoken with Gen. Teah Banh, calling for military commanders of both sides to order soldiers at the border to show restraint.

Both countries have claimed sovereignty over a 4.6 square kilometres area adjacent to the temple.

The Thai foreign ministry will be responsible in negotiations regarding the disputed zone and not the military because it is a "sensitive issue", Gen. Boonsang added.

Tell me what so Supreme about AH Boonsang Niempradit? Can this motherfucker walk on water? Can this motherfucker fly in the air? Can this motherfucker take the bullet in the head? Of course not!

Khmer leaders need to stay put because there is nothing to negotiate with the Thaicong on Khmer sovereignty! If these fucken Thaicong can get their fucken arse onto Khmer land and they can certainly move their fucken arse out of Khmer land! It is simple as that!

Tell AH Boonsang Niempradit that he is looking at the wrong map and tell him to get his wanted to be hero Thaicong soldiers to get the fuck out! Otherwise Cambodia will have to open a new border conflict like the North Korean way(Not the Burmese way)!

Fear no Thaicong!

In Siamland it seems there is no impartial media every news is distorted.

At the service of his majesty the Siam king and the politician I guess.

By the way when you have a military playing the role of a politician you have a big problem Siamland!!!

The goal of Boonsrang is to sign or to convince his counterpart to allow the Siam troops to stay in the Cambodia territory or to move the 500 villagers, or other tricks of them.

So they can invoke that Cambodia has allow them to stay in that area because it a disputed zone.

I hope that Gen. Tea Ban will not fall for these.

The Siam troop must leave without any CONDITIONS, they are the wrongdoer who broke International Law.

cambodia should ask the UN to intervene as witness to any deal with thailand at this talk, militarily speaking. it is very obvious that thailand is violating the international law because internatioinal boundaries are ties to the international law, regardless whether thailand agree or not, this is an international issue that thailand incursed into cambodian territory in accordance to the franco-siamese treaty of 1904 - 1907 and the icj verdict of 1962. thailand is violating the international law that the world created to protect the sovereignty of all nation on the face of the planet and thailand violated this law, period. they can disagree all they want, which is very typical of them anyway, bu law is law and they must respect the international law. it is crucial and will work to the benefit of cambodia when cambodia ask the UN to intervene and don't let thailand boss us around. thailand is forgetting about the international law out there! cambodia must use that law to deal with thailand as thailand will have no chance when it comes to the international law!!!

my dear, only time will tell. i don't think the UN will tolerate any violation of international law by thailand.

look, the point is thailand had lost once already to icj ruling in 1962, and now the unesco decision to list preah vihear despite thailand objection. so, doesn't this tell you a lot already that the world is doing the right thing in the name of justice for cambodia! so, i have no doubt that once the UN get involved, they can deal with thailand's violation in accordance to the international law. thank you.

when push comes to shove, thailand will have no chance with the international law. ask any law expert, and they can tell you more about dealing with the law. god bless cambodia.

look, don't make a mistake by thinking cambodia is incapable to handle thailand, militarily. however, cambodia should be smart to use the law in our favor. why bother to waste much needed resources when we have the law that we know and they know that will favor cambodia. thailand has no chance with the law, trust me!! this is why asking the UN to intervene is more beneficial for cambodia as we are choosing a smarter way to deal with thailand.

if thailand is so dumb enough to start war, that's really is their problem. cambodia will exhaust the way of the law to deal with them because we know thailand will lose and be humiliated again like they did in 1962 when the icj ruled in favor of cambodia over the same issue we are talking now. nothing new from thailand, is there? god bless cambodia.

It is very funny! Thailand still claim that Cambodia is invade them... IF Thailand believe so, why don't they bring it to UN Or you afraid to loss again when bring internationally... Why Cambodia is the first to let UN know about this situation... That is very obvious who invade who? Generally, who those afraid of law are those who do thing wrongly. OK, you can build up troop, fine! But don't even think that showing muscle can make other scare... When there come to the nationalism, you should take a look at Israel and Palestine as example... They don't afraid your weapon!
