The Sam Rainsy Party (SRP), Funcinpec, the Norodom Ranariddh Party (NRP), and the Human Rights Party (HRP) have jointly rejected the results of the July 27 parliamentary election due to irregularities, demanding that it be re-held.

The parties made the joint statement yesterday, though the National Election Committee (NEC) has yet to release the official election results, after a long meeting between the parties at the SRP headquarters in Phnom Penh.

The four parties call on the Cambodian public and the international community not to recognize the results of the July 27 elections which were manipulated and rigged by the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP),” read the statement.

The parties said there were many “illegal and fraudulent practices” including the deletion of “countless” eligible voters’ names and an artificial increase in CPP votes due to distribution of fake voter ID forms, which allowed “ghost voters” to take part.

The parties denounced the NEC as the CPP’s “tool,” accusing it of helping the CPP to rig the election.

SRP leader Sam Rainsy, who vowed Sunday evening to lead a mass demonstration protecting election irregularities, said in front of HRP President Kem Sokha, HRP’s Second Deputy President Prince Sisowath Siriroth and NRP representative Muth Chantha: “We [four parties] are uniting with the people to struggle for a re-election nationwide.”

Kem Sokha said that the parties have unified to display their determination to the international community to reject the election results, adding that there was now hope for an opposition alliance.

“We expect that these parties could ally together because they have the same target,” he said.

Muth Chantha said that each party had found “severe” irregularities in the vote.

The election was manipulated by the NEC to allow the CPP to win votes,” he said. “We will not retreat from our protest over these problems.”

Information Minister and government spokesman Khieu Kanharith was dismissive of the demand that the election be re-held.

“The protest by these four parties is not important. What is important is the NEC’s decision ... Are [the political parties] rejecting [the result] because they lost so badly?” he said.

The NEC also appeared unconcerned by the joint demand, as it said the committee conducted the election in accordance with the Election Law and its procedures.

I think that the demand to hold elections again is typical of the losers,” NEC President Im Suosdey said.

WHY NOT UNITED IN ONE PARTY, IDIOTS?

CAMBODIA NEEDS ONLT TWO PARTIES:
CPP vs. Opposition

Khmer People in the cities lost hope on the oppositions because they see too many parties and those parties only help CPP to gain more votes.

When Khmer people see no chance for the small parties to win, they cannot gample with their lives, so they just went with the strong one to survive.

Some idiots among this four want things to be this way. They help CPP to separate the opposition voices.

50, 100 years on thing will still the same or worse, these idiots still are idiots.

You're fucking pathetic yourself, shit head.

I don't think you have what it takes to be a leader. Your ignorance is also fucking pathetic.

Go and lick your boss' ass, shit head.

I'm a strong supporter of opposition parties, but now I feel sorry for them for too late to unify. We should do it before the election. I knew they would lose if they could not unify, but they defied to go on their own. Who can help you now? Khmer people and international community? It's unlikely to happen.

The only way to have you voice in the constitution you need to united all parties with same common goal. Remember as the old saying that "if you want to win u need to united as a bundle of sticks". Now is too late to change the past but with bad experience u can change for better future.

My Friends,
Before you are jumping all over the fence, here a few things to reflect to why it is difficult to form a united opposition. First, look at what Funcinpec has done from day one since UNTAC, and where Rannaridh is as of today? This Party has gone to bed with Hun Sen since day one. You have Rannaridh as a leader and what kind of leader is he? You still want more of that? Now he created his own party. Look at Kem Sokha for a second. If he really loves his country then he could have worked with Sam Rainsy, struck a deal and bravo. He went out and created his own party, arrogantly proclaimed that he would win this election. You have to understand who is your ultimate threat, to the country and to your own people's survival. Look at where we are now, and you are blaming everybody, but the sad part is that many of us are still politically naive, stupid (Pleu), sadly unrealistic. Too many people want to be PM and too many idiots still follow them. It is pathetic.
First thing first, the rest will come and as democrats we can work together fine. I am sure.

Sam Rainsy is the best patriot leader I’ve ever known. He is honest, reliable, experienced, bright , thinking. He is a man of compromise, dialogue and unity. He is a man of his word.
- He faced a weathercock Ranariddh who betrayed him to Hun Sen 3 times because of money (Ranariddh is rotten to the core). How still to unify with such a man? Anyway, the Samrainsy Party members wouldn’t have agreed it.
-
- And how about Kem Sokha! After his came out of the prison, he became famous and warmly welcome everywhere. Intoxicated by success, he created his party HUMAN RIGHT and arrogantly propose Sam Rainsy to unite but WITH ONE CONDITION:
THE PRESIDENT OF THE PARTY (don’t confuse with the position of the PRIME MINISTER of which he also suggested as Sam Rainsy had already done) MUST RUN ONLY TWICE.
THERE ONE OF THE REASONS WHY SAM RAINSY DECLINED HIS OFFER.

YOU SHOULD REGULARLY READ THE NEWS FROM OUR COUTRY BEFORE BLAMING SAM RAINSY FOR REFUSING THE UNITY OF THE OPPOSITION PARTIES BEFORE THE ELECTION.

8:11pm,

You know only the word shit and fuck. You criticized Reaj is really ashamed.

Look into the core of his meaning, the four guys should have united before the election. The acts of those four guys just show their greediness for power which caused people lost more confidence on them. They can’t lead and unite 15M people if they can’t work with only four of them… They were so arrogance, that’s why they lost.

I am much sympathized of your piggy head.
