Cambodian and Thai journalists hope to meet at a forum for "justice and peace," seeking ways to accurately report the ongoing military standoff at Preah Vihear temple before it turns violent, Council of Ministers spokesman Phay Siphan said.
The forum, which would gather researchers, historians and journalists, could be held next week, though no firm date or venue has been set.
The forum would seek to find common ground in reporting the stand off before it turns to "bloody killing," Phay Siphan said.
Khieu Kola, board director of the Club of Cambodian Journalists, said he supported the initiative.

Khmers, please be serious about taking a shortcut in a war. If this war is definitely inevitable than a shortcut should be practiced, meaning take "no hostage" wherether the captured enemies are ordinary soldiers or high ranking, or a pilot of a downed jet fighter. They must be done away with immediately so they wouldnot become a burdon or even a time bomb that can kill you eventually. Destroy them and proclaim the victory and they will no longer become outrageously arrogant like they were.
