I disagree. It is better than to invest your own money on those provinces. If you should lose those provinces to them in the future, you will also lose your investment with it, and that is dumb.
It's deeply sight of Samdect Ta ( the Grand Father King). Thasin is one of the real dangerous men for future Cambodian generation in medium and long term. King father is correct in ways that superior nations use some means to {colonise} other inferior [they think]. Pls refer this idea to Niccolo Machiavelli [the prince] which I think Cambodia needs to learn to know Thai and Youn dirty tricks. We, the Executive Board of the Khmer M’Chas Srok (KMS) cordially invite you to participate in our 2nd World Convention wich is honnored by the presence of Dr. Sakhonn Chak, the General Representative
Khmer M'Chas Srok is the National Union Movement of all Khmer people having the common goal of reaching Real Peace in Cambodia.
The Real Peace for the Khmer people means that they can live peacefully, freely and supremely, in prosperity and in harmony with their culture and their civilzation in their country.
This Real Peace has been lost for several decades, due to foreign domination, which has interfered in the Sovereignty, the Independence, Territorial Integrity and Inviolability of Cambodia.
This foreign domination is characterized by some principle activities of “Puppet Government” in Cambodia, which:
• has opened the borders and allowed millions of illegal settlers in to Cambodia, and diverted the richness of the country to benefit the new settlers, and
• disregarded the well being of the Cambodian people, and
• failed to defend the territorial integrity and inviolability of Cambodia, etc.
Dear Compatriots, now, together, we face a new challenge to save our motherland and our Khmer identity, in order to build a peaceful and prosperous future for all generations to live as “Khmer M'Chas Srok”.

Last year, I went visiting the Preah Vihea temple and I tracked all the way point down to the slope of path way from the Pagoda, I saw the Pagoda area in the Thai territory if we compared to the Google Earth hosted by a company in the United State that's why Thai people and their king said there are just the Preah Vihear Temple in the possession of Khmer, but they will claim from Khmer a slop of path way from Pagoda. Let's see how new Khmer government play this game with Thailand with the most sucessfull win of the 91 seat election, from Alev.

I am the resident of Koh Kong. For years I has seen the Thai population are moving into Koh Kong illegally especially along the base of the mountain and I see Hun Sen authority lack the will power and the authority to do anything about it. There is an onging Thai invasion of Koh Kong province and I am very sad that it didn't get the same attention as the Phrea Vihear Province.
The Thai will use every tactic to steal with belong to the Khmer people! And I believe King Sihanouk because if the Khmer government doesn't care about Koh Kong Province and soon it will be another conflict between the Khmer and the Thai in the near future!

Vietnam invaded Cambodia in December 1978, and in January 1979 installed in Phnom Penh a new communist regime friendly to Hanoi.

Bangkok could no longer rely on Cambodia as a buffer against Vietnamese power. Bangkok was forced to assume the role of a frontline state against a resurgent communist Vietnam, which had 300,000 troops in Cambodia and Laos. The Thai government began increasing its defense capabilities. While visiting Washington in February 1979, Prime Minister Kriangsak asked for and received reassurances of military support from the United States. His government also launched a major diplomatic offensive to press for the withdrawal of all Vietnamese forces from Cambodia and for continued international recognition of Democratic Kampuchea under Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge regime. As part of that offensive, Kriangsak also journeyed to Moscow in March 1979--the first visit ever by a Thai prime minister--to explain the Thai position on the Cambodian question and to reassure the Soviets that Thailand's anti-Vietnamese position was neither anti-Soviet nor pro-Chinese. Such reassurances were believed to be necessary in view of Vietnamese accusations that Thailand collaborated with China and the United States in aiding and abetting the Khmer Rouge forces against the Heng Samrin regime.
The Thai offensive, backed by Bangkok's ASEAN partners, was rewarded in a United Nations (UN) General Assembly resolution adopted in November 1979. The resolution called for immediate withdrawal of all foreign forces from Cambodia, asked all nations to refrain from interfering in, or staging acts of aggression against, Cambodia, and called on the UN secretary general to explore the possibility of an international conference on Cambodia.
