Phay Siphan likened Thailand to Hitler "fascist" regime which "take military occupation according to the unilateral maps they draw"

Divergent Maps Hinder Standoff Solution

Cambodia has called on Thailand to accept the use of an international map drawn in 1904 and 1907 to settle an ongoing dispute at the border near Preah Vihear temple.

Thailand was using a "unilateral" map in its negotiating position over a continued military standoff at the border, said Phay Siphan, a spokesman for the Council of Ministers.

He compared Thailand to "fascist" regimes like Germany under Adolph Hitler, which "take military occupation according to the unilateral maps they draw."

At least 4,000 troops are amassed on the Thai border near Preah Vihear temple, and negotiations aimed as diffusing the situation broke down on Monday because the two sides could not agree on a map.

Thailand's chief negotiator, Gen. Boonsrang Niumpradit, has been quoted on Thai TV and news reports blaming Cambodia's adherence to its map for the breakdown.

"The problem was that we and Cambodia are using two different maps," he said recently on Thai TV. "Cambodia is using the French version while we used a US-drawn map, thus it's hard for us to reach agreement."

The idiot (Phay Siphan) got everything backward. The French conquerer made map is a lot closer to the Nazi conquerer made map than to Thailand made map.

Thai progress is that they were thieve: stole alot of land while those country weak-note:they only pick when their neighbor is weak, stole the language, stole the culture...

Now progress from a thieve become a robber, since they have no civilzation they want something they did not have to make themself feel better.

Somehow criminal doesn't like the police.

Down with the Thai! down with the criminal!

There is no shortage of smart siamese in siam. And they know the map drawn in 1904 and 1907 to be officially accepted as the border line defined in that map. But these siamese are evil and arrogant flexing the muscle to harass the Khmers knowing that they would lose nothing to do so and to give hard time on Khmer even if the disputed area eventually return to Cambodia. It's an "arrogance" the siamese are showing off. Kill the damn son of the evil ones. The Khmers don't need this hyena-like neighbor, the two legged animals in south east asia.

I beg to differ, the thais will lose way more than the khmer.

Thais think that they can walk all over the khmer without any repercussions. Not only will they shame themselves internationally, they will have to deal with khmer attacks on their soil and the lost of lives on both side.

The khmers are united on this issue while thailand is not. If and when war breaks thailand will need to justify to its own people why they went to war and was it worth it. The PAD will lose all credibility for causing the conflict and lots of internal problems within the government which could probably lead to a coup.

If war break out, it will embolden the muslim of thailand to chaellenge the thai state. At which point a two front war will be bestowed upon thailand. Natural enemies such as myanmar and laos will also want a piece of the pie.

There is no such thing as united Khmer. Stop lying. Everyone is looking for an opportunity to kill each other at this very moment.

The Hun Sen government should pay special attention to the build up of Thai troops along our border.

We should send troops there too.
Cambodia should watch its back.
