The Nation

An eight-hour meeting between Thailand and Cambodia to solve military stand off near Preah Vihear Temple failed to reach any breakthrough on Monday.

Both countries will remain number of their troops and weapons there and will order their troops not to use forces in the area.

Supreme Commander Gen Boonsang Niempradit and Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Gen Tea Banh who chaired the special meeting of the General Border Commission emerged at a press conference after nearly eight hours of meeting in Indochina Hotel in Sa Kaew's Aranyaprathet district.

The meeting was called as the military stand off near Preah Vihear Temple reached the six days. Both countries deployed troops and weapons to a plot of 4.6 square kilometre near the temple. The Thai side claimed that the areas are overlapping zones while Cambodia claimed it is in its territory.

Both Boonsang and Tea Banh cited legislation and legal technicalities as obstacles in reaching any agreement on the issue.

Gen Tea Banh told reporters that both sides tried to lower down the degree of tension during the meeting but failed due to the legislationa and legal technicalities.

Boonsang declined to answer when asked if the meeting was a failure. They said both troops will avoid using forces in the area. They will forward the outcome of the meeting to their prime ministers for consideration.

"both sides tried to lower down the degree of tension during the meeting but failed due to the legislationa and legal technicalities": what does it mean?
They are not obstacle at all. In the contrary, they are the basic ground to help both countries in determining specific border line.
If Thailand respect international legislationa and legal, the tension at the Preah vihear never happened because it finalized by
ICJ already and Thailand never claim the case to ICJ. That's why, Thailand Thailand is scare of ASEAN, UN, ICJ.

Everyone is not surprised to see such outcome.

Thai militatry and gov't want to see the deadlock comes out from this meeting, so they can stay put on the land much longer. They calculated that at least they will succeed to pull out of Cambodian civilian and monks out of that peice of land.
They know that Hun Sen gov't will eventually concede to them the land and agree to keep this land as dispute area and clear out of any use by Cambodian. And they know for sure that Khmer can't use military mean to push them back despite due to respect that Khmer soldiers are brave but Thai can inflict heavy lose and win in long run in arm dispute.

Khmer can do is to remain in that piece of land with Thai but DO NOT conced to Thai demand. If Thai can stay and Khmer can stay, too but without officially declare that Cambodian will share with them. At least Khmer can make sure that the pagoda still stand there and the monks. If Thai convict them, Then there is no choice but sadly military conflict will surely have to happen. Khmer solidiers may be suffered heavy casualties than Thai but Other Asian will not stand idol to watch this bloodbath.
The question is can Khmer stand up with this war with Thai for one year term. How much the total cost of resources and human life? Khmers have to draw the line on the sand where they can tolerate with this incursion and disgraceful act of Thailand (the land of devil smiling)

There will be no war.

This case if about the Thai government breaking ICJ verdict and the UN will teach them how to be civilized.

Like you said the outlaw Thai is not looking for solution their are looking to gain on Cambodia.

That is why the UN must intervene, the Hun Sen must not play the game of the Thai government.

They must file for the UN assistance.

Fuck the UN.
Fuck the Cambodian government.
Fuck the Thai government.

This is a surreptitious or secret plan between the Cambodian prime minister and his friends current and former Thai prime ministers in which will benefit them greatly, which is why these traitors have deliberately delayed the negotiation. Therefore, the Thai and Cambodian people should demand both countries leaders (and Thai former prime minister) to unearth the secret plan in which they signed and gave the Cambodia a green light to inscript in with the UNESCO.

I believe both of the countries have been betrayed by their leaders.

Why don't ah Hun Sen protest to the UN about the Vietcong encroaching our land also?

Let Thai fight with Khmer to see who is stronger in military? Whose has experience in garilla warfare? Ah Thai soldiers only can kill innocent Khmer people, but wait and see if they can kill Cambodia soldier. Let's beat their ass out of Cambodia to teach them a lesson.

We should ask Thai/Cham and Khmer Surin to join us to deleberate their country back from Thaicong.

Thailand is not scare of ASEAN, UN or ICJ at all.Because The Thai's border was located at Svay Daun Keo as The Thais history recorded.

On the other hand, Thais' Military are stronger and powerful forces than Cambodian. Thais' could wipe out Cambodian' Military in a minute.

We are not scare of ASEAN, UN, ICJ.
We proclaim all Temples are belong to Us.
