Thai-Cambodia stand-off continues [-Is this a Thai ploy to get a share of the 4.6-sq.km.?]

Officials from Thailand and Cambodia have called for dialogue as a military stand-off at an ancient border temple enters its second day.

Two hundred Thai and 380 Cambodian troops are said to be deployed at Preah Vihear temple, which sits on disputed territory along the border.

The build-up happened after Cambodia said Thai troops had crossed to its territory - a charge Thailand denies.

It comes days after Unesco listed the temple as a World Heritage Site.

The International Court awarded Preah Vihear temple to Cambodia in 1962, but areas around it remain the subject of an ongoing border dispute.

The Unesco move has reignited nationalist tensions, particularly in Thailand. Opposition forces are using the issue to attack the government - which initially backed the heritage listing.

'Misunderstanding'

The stand-off began on Tuesday, when Cambodian guards arrested three Thai protesters.

Thai troops then began crossing the border, Cambodia said. Thai military officials say their troops are deployed in Thai territory.

On Wednesday, as troop numbers increased, officials from both sides sought to defuse the situation.

"I think it's better to say this is some kind of misunderstanding," Cambodian government spokesman Khieu Kanharith said, when asked if the incident constituted a Thai invasion.

The soldiers were interacting peacefully at the site, he said.

Thai army commander General Anupong Paojinda, meanwhile, called for dialogue to resolve the row.

"There should be negotiations between the two countries. The problem has been unaddressed for a long time because there has been no demarcation of the border yet," he said.

"I want the problem to be solved, and the solution must be accepted by both countries."

Local residents are reported to have left the site but so far the only casualty of the stand-off is a Thai soldier injured by a landmine - likely left over from when the Khmer Rouge occupied the site.

LOL Khmers foolishly thought they are on Khmer soil, but in fact, they are on the OVERLAPPING AREAS.
( See, I never use the world that it's on Thai soil because it is actually the OVERLAPPING AREAS)

And now, you said it's an misunderstanding, you fool!

That's why Thai soldiers keep adding their troops in. Only foolish Khmers thought it's their territory. It's not, not even where the Khmers' village stands now. It's all in the OVERLAPPING AREA.

GET THE PICTURE RIGHT, DON'T TRY TO FOOL YOURSELF, or asking for more landmines, STUPID KHMERS!

DECISION IN 1962 awarded Khmers ONLY the PVH temple, NOT THE SURROUNDING AREAS THAT PVH LIES ON.

WHY?
Because ICJ recognized that FRANCE claimed the rights to occupy the PVH and took the liberty of drawing the map(that you Khmers hold to your lives) in a wrong manner.

So ICJ awarded ONLY THE PVH TEMPLE,
NOT the surrounding area because the surrounding areas belong to Thais rightfully.

If the only thing you can do is showing the ICJ 1962 decision, you Khmers should go back and study more why ICJ only awarded ONLY PVH TEMPLE, not all the areas where PVH situated.

Get some education, please. My fellow Khmers.

"The Thai troops could leave the Cambodian territory only after they signed documents to admit their incursion," local newspapers Wednesday quoted him (Khieu Kanharith)as saying.

=The Thaicong army is weak because they try to use the Thaicong protesters as human shield! Why would the fucken Thaicong army want to go to war by hiding among the Thaicong protesters? Why?

The fucken Thaicong army is cheaper than a terrorist by hiding themselves among the unarmed Thaicong civilians and hoping that Cambodian soldiers would shoot the unarmed Thaicong civilians so that the Thaicong army can claim their righteousness!

Fuck all you Thaicong mother fucker and you are cheaper than a terrorist for putting your unarmed civilian in harm way! And it is no wonder the Muslim militants in Southern Thailame will target any Thaicong civilians because this is how the Thaicong army behaves by hiding among their population!

There is no such thing as overlapping area according to the world map of 1904 and 1907 ruled by the world court! I suggest the fucken Thaicong army get the hell out along with their sorry arse Thaicong unarmed civilians who are being use as human shield!

Fear no Thaicong!

Thank you to all soldiers for protecting Khmer's Issan Province from the invasion of the greedy monkeys from Cambodia. You will always be our heroes!

May God blesses all of you!

The land’s around Preah Vihear temple definitely is belonging to the Cambodia.
No one build the temple without lands around, it does not make any sense.

Noway, the wild and greedy monkeys in Cambodia can't possibly own anything on that cliff. They don't even live there. How can they own it? The temple clearly belong to Khmer people in Issan Province who has lived there for centuries before the French Infidel invation in the early 1900's.

We heard all your say. Shut up and keep your lie words to tell the International Court of Justice or any International Court. We're all know that you are outlaw as truly that you are not ratify or a members of International Court of Justice or UNESCO, we assumed that one day you (Thailand) will be withdraw from the UN member because of you outlaw full. As in Khmer proverb advised that" There are no teachers or any other could teach you to go in the right ways"
