Thailand, Cambodia pledge to resolve border standoff peacefully

Monday, July 21, 2008

SINGAPORE (AP) -Top diplomats from Thailand and Cambodia have pledged a peaceful resolution to a standoff over disputed border territory near an ancient shrine, as the Southeast Asian neighbors prepared to hold talks Monday.

The territorial row, in which thousands of troops from both sides remained locked in a standoff around or near an ancient border temple, was a key topic at a dinner meeting Sunday of the foreign ministers of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

The 10 ASEAN ministers are gathered in Singapore this week for annual meetings.

"We urged both sides to exercise utmost restraint and resolve this issue amicably," Singapore's Foreign Minister George Yeo told reporters late Sunday. "Both sides affirmed that they would ... exert their utmost efforts to find a peaceful solution to the issue."

The pledge came as top military officials planned to open bilateral talks in Thailand Monday to ease tensions.

The conflict over territory surrounding the ancient Hindu temple escalated earlier this month when UNESCO approved Cambodia's application to have the complex declared a World Heritage Site. Thai activists say the new status undermines Thailand's claim to the compound of a nearby Buddhist pagoda.

THE TENSION AND DISPUTE AT PREAH VIHEA SEEM TO INDICATE THAT THE UN CHARTER IS NOT RESPECTED NOT BY THAILAND , BUT ALSO BY VIETNAM AND OTHER UN MEMBER COUNTRIES INCLUDING THE 5 PERMANENT SECURITY COUNCILL MEMBERS AS WELL. THE THAI TROOPS INSIDE CAMBODIA IN JULY 2008 AT PRESH VIHEA , WHILE CAMBODIA REMAINS OCCUPIED BY VIETNAM FROM 1979-2008 AGAINST 10 UN RESOLUTIONS , CALLING VIETNAM TO CESE HER OCCUPATION OF CAMBODIA NOT RESPECTED AS OF TODAY. THIS SITUATION THAT MAKES UNESCO AS NOTHING AS UN INSTINTUTION AND THE UN RESOLUTIONS IS JUST A TOILET PAPER ? A. THAI TROOPS ARE INSIDE CAMBODIA BECAUSE THE VIETNAMESE TROOPS OF GENERAL VAN TIEN DUNG ARE IN CAMBODIA SINCE 1979 UNDER THE NAME OF THE CPP/HUN SEN ADMINISTRATION. B. THE THAI TROOPS WILL WITHDRAW FROM CAMBODIA WHEN THE VIETNAMESE TROOPS WILL DO LIKEWISE UNDER A SIMILAR ORGANISM THE ICC OF THE GENEVA CONFERENCE OF JULY 1954. C. FOR CAMBODIA INDENDEPENCE AND IN COMPLIANCE OF THE UN CHARTER , THAILAND AND VIETNAM MUST CEASE THEIR OCCUPATION OF FROM TODAY .
AMERICA CALL VIETNAM .
Jan. 11, 1979 The UN Security Council agreed, over the objections of the Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia, to let Prince Norodom Sihanouk present a demand for the withdrawal of Vietnamese forces from Cambodia.

THE UNITED NATIONS SAY THIS :Oct. 21, 1986 The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution A/RES/41/6, by vote of 116-21 with 13 abstentions, calling for a withdrawal of Vietnamese forces from Cambodia.

IT'S IMPERATIVE FOR ALL KHMER TO GET ORGANIZED TO END THE VIETNAMESE OCCUPATION OF CAMBODIA 1970-2008 against the 10 UN resolutions either through REVOLTS OR OTHER MEANS.
10 UN RESOLUTIONS CALLING VIETNAM TO CEASE HER OCCUPATION OF CAMBODIA THROUGH THE CPP/HUN SEN REGIME WITH THE COLLABORATION OF KING SIHANOUK/SIHAMONI, NOT RESPECTED. IT ALLOWS EACH KHMER TO REMOVE ,BY RIGHTS AND BY FORCES , ALL THE VIETNAMESE PROPERTIES IN CAMBODIA : DESTRUCTION , DEMOLITION, AND BY FIRE.

VIETNAM INVASION & OCCUPATION OF CAMBODIA : 1979-2008Nearly 30 years, under Vietnam rule of Cambodia, Cambodian youth are denied minimum of education and jobs that result in suicide, robbery,CRIMES ACROSS CAMBODIA EVERYDAY , due to hunger, injustice, and unemployement.

10 UN RESOLUTIONS,(1979-1988) VOTED BY 116 UN MEMBER COUNTRIES ,CALL VIETNAM TO CEASE HER OCCUPATION OF CAMBODIA & REMOVE ALL HER TROOPS FROM THE COUNTRY ARE NOT RESPECTED. SUCH AS THESE :Nov. 14, 1979 The UN General Assembly adopts a resolution A/RES/34/22 calling for the immediate withdrawal of all foreign troops from Cambodia. The vote is 91-21 with 29 abstentions.Nov. 5, 1985 The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution A/RES/40/7, by vote of 114-21 with 16 abstentions, calling for the immediate withdrawal of all foreign forces from Cambodia.Oct. 21, 1986 The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution A/RES/41/6, by vote of 116-21 with 13 abstentions, calling for a withdrawal of Vietnamese forces from Cambodia.Oct. 14, 1987 The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution A/RES/42/3 calling for the immediate withdrawal of all foreign troops from Cambodia.Nov. 3, 1988 the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution A/RES/43/19 reiterating its call for the immediate withdrawal of all foreign troops from Cambodia.America calls Vietnam to restore Cambodia Independence .President Reagan's address to the 43d Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, New York,September 26, 1988."Mr. Secretary-General, there are new hopes for Cambodia, a nation whose freedom and independence we seek just as avidly as we sought the freedom and independence of Afghanistan. We urge the rapid removal of all Vietnamese troops ...."As of today,Cambodia is still occupied by the Vietnamese troops despite the call from the US president to Vietnam to cease her occupation of Cambodia since 1988.Cambodia needs Independence from Vietnam and the Vietnamese invaders.

Thailand troops inside Cambodia must be considered as normal because the Vietnamese troops of invasion and occupation of Cambodia are there since 1979.

SO THE CULPRITS ARE at THIS TIME ,THAILAND AND VIETNAM , both countries are UN members THAT ARE OCCUPYING CAMBODIA IN VIOLATION OF THE UN CHARTER .

WHAT ARE THE BEST SOLUTIONS ?
THE UN SECURITY COUNCIL NEED TO CONVENE AND CALL BOTH COUNTRIES THAILAND AND VIETNAM TO CEASE THEIR OCCUPATION OF CAMBODIA AT ONCE.

It's a time to "smile" and a time to "kill," and -- very important--the Thai need to remember that we (Cambodians)are smiling and shaking your hands (with shaking our heads), but we'll shoot and kill you later. Remember that -- and remember it well. You are Cambodian historic archfoe, and we'll make sure it should stay that way for a long, long time.

God bless Cambodia and her Preah Vihear!

The soon-war-torn Thailand will learn the cataclysmic repercussion when the regional war breaks, if diplmatic dialoque failed. The Thai black-clad extremists shall soon learn their fate (the hard way).

Remember, sufferings, trials and tribulations will be brought onto the country of Thailand.

May the Lord Buddha bless Cambodia and her people and her temple as we are beginning to massacre our historic archfoes.

My brother and sister around the world:

I would like to suggest to all KHMER around the world to BOYCOTT Made in Thailand products, materials especially everyday's commodities that are made or produced in Thailand. If we can be together on this matter, we will partly win this war... The Siam will turn to fight each other once they start to lose their individual benefits... Let's use this strategy to help fight this war with our soldiers along Khmer Thai border.

The sitting primate mistress of Thailand should spend a few nights together with the monkey king to de-escalate the escalating tensions.

Fuck Thai primate mistress and the monkey king!

Dear all,

Let's not fighting with each other, khmer and khmer. This is the time that we should together as one. Let's focus on helping our troop who are protecting our land at the border around the country. We should ask ourselves, are we contributing enough to our heros who stand along the border to protect our motherland from all invaders... Are we doing enough to keep those hero healthy? are we providing enough food for them? Are we providing them enough weapons and moral and psychological support to face with invader's psychological warfare? Let's be as one... One khmer, one nation and one spirit!!!!
