Op-ED by Chanda Chhay
The rancor in Thailand over the issue of Cambodia’s proposal to put Preah Vihear Temple as a world heritage site appears to get uglier every passing day. It is outright pathetic when Thai politicians, academics, and even judicial body (court) made preposterous claims that Thailand could lose territory as a result of Cambodia’s putting Preah Vihear Temple as a world heritage site.
Let’s face it, and be realistic and truthful to history, that the Issan region of Thailand formerly known as Surin, Kok Khan, and Nokor Reach were former Cambodian provinces. The Thais had annexed these provinces to their kingdom during the period when Cambodia was falling apart, politically.
It is a crooked politic or twisting the truth to the lowest point for Thai politicians or Thailand to cry foul about losing their appropriated territories to the victim of their thefts. If we were to let bygones be bygones, as a good neighbor, the least Thailand could do is to do the best it could to facilitate, in good faith, Cambodia’s effort to preserve Preah Vihear for posterity. The hard truth is that: It is Thai people who benefit the most from Preah Vihear being opened to tourists. Also, in the long run, it is still Thai people who will benefit the most from Preah Vihear as a world heritage site. If the muddled-head Thai politicians did not see this plain truth, it is time for Cambodia to say: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, and shut off access to Preah Vihear from Thailand for good, or until Thai politicians get their rational back on track.

Chinese people is a history fanatic. They will never messed with history. Only Khmer does that. None of the Khmer History made any sense. It looks more like a bad swiss cheese full of difference size holes and contamination.
Lol. That rather sounds like a Thai history than Khmer. The Khmer histories are validated by international historians. Whereas today, the history of Thailand is still a rather mind boggling subject. Just like they dropped in from an alien planet and poof, there they are.
The chinese must have done a hell of a wacking at the Tais.
Validated by international historians my arse, Khmer history is so fuck-up that no one on this planet will teached it in their school.
12:03am, whatever! you can go to hell now!! god bless cambodia.
12:03AM...It is not true. The university of British Columbia (where I went) and other schools on North America and maybe in Europe too teach Khmers history. I think you are one greedy Thai and perhaps uneducated Thai. Don't tell me that you are one beautiful boy in Thailand. We white people love you because of your girls. Bangkok is the best place on earth for spring break - drink, drug, and girls - not beautiful boys. Cheers.
12:31AM...University of Osaka, Japan teaches khmers history too. I think the thai guy never go to school or got brainwashed by the Chinese King Rama.
This stupid siamese would say all the stupid thing that pops up in his dumb brain whether it makes zero sense or it simply shows his pure ignorance. Go to hell siamese, you damn shameless people.
LOL, hahaha, LOL, 2:35, most Japanese don't even know where Cambodia is.
The Siems are still confused about their national identity. They are good at making up their history. I feel sorry for them. They claim what they don't have.
Nope, Siam doesn't mess with history. Only Ah Karmen and Ah Karmen-Yuon losers does that. Siem are winner and they needn't to change the truth. They are very proud of themselves.
12:03 is a TransvesTHAI!!! Cheers to your anal!!
6:08,
Do you know that most tourist are Japanese beside Koreans? My question to you is; Do you know where Cambodia is?
That make sense 6:53! Case in point, the Preah Vihear issues. Good observation!
Of course I know where Cambodia is. It is not connected to France, but very far from it. And the French had no business determined anything here, alright? It is all Khmer's affair.
Stop acting like a stupid nation on earth, thai people!!! You have our land enough.
Well, we can't let you run away with our temple.
At any rate, I think it's time for us (Khmer)in Thailand to make deal with Laos, and Vietnam to split Cambodia into three. Otherwise, the region will never prosper.
1:11AM....I could't believe this khmer-Issan wants to split Khmer Country into three parts controlled by the Thais, Laos, and the Viets. Then, stop calling yourself khmer. I am a khmer-Issan living in Thailand too. This is exactly the views of many thais in Thailand. Not the real khmers living in Thailand. This person here has only half khmer-brain. It does not represent all khmers living in thailand.
