SINGAPORE, July 23 (TNA) - Three permanent members of the United Nations Security Council and its two non-permanent members agreed Wednesday with Thailand that talks on the Thai-Cambodian border dispute should be held and settled through bilateral means, Thai Deputy Prime Minister Sahas Banditkul said Wednesday.
Mr. Sahas, representing Thailand at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) foreign ministers meeting in Singapore, said he had met with Russian, American and Chinese foreign ministers on the sidelines of the ASEAN ministerial meeting and briefed them on the dispute over the 4.6-square-kilometre area adjacent to the ancient Preah Vihear temple.
The 11th century mountaintop Khmer religious edifice designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage site earlier this month.
Russia, the US and China are permanent members of the UN Security Council and are dialogue partners of ASEAN.
Mr. Sahas said he had also discussed the issue with Indonesia and Vietnam, both non-permanent members of the UN Security Council, and both agreed with Thailand that the problem should be solved through talks between Bangkok and Phnom Penh.
Bangkok has proposed that the dispute should be settled by means of bilateral talks but Phnom Penh wants the Security Council to hold an emergency meeting over the issue on Monday over Thailand's objections.

It is unheard of for any country on this planet Earth to have bilateral talk with the aggressor in hoping to find peaceful settlement! So tell all you UN stupid motherfucker, did Kuwaiti people give bilateral talk a chance in finding peaceful settlement with the Iraqi army? Of course not!
If the international community forces Cambodian leaders to have bilateral talk with the Thaicong aggressor then the International community is condoning and rewarding Thaicong aggression and make the door open wider for the Thaicong to commit future aggression on Cambodia!
The international community must not and can not accept any aggression whether it is big or small and international community must send a clear message to the Thaicong government to withdraw their troop from Cambodia before any peaceful bilateral talk can take place! The present of Thaicong military force on Cambodian soil is an act of defiant and the Thaicong government is violating international map, international law, and disrespect international community! For these reasons there is no point for Cambodian leaders to talk, to negotiate, and to discussion the naked Thaicong aggression on Cambodia any longer and it is a waste of time and time is what Cambodia doesn’t have!
Right now the Thaicong-Cambodian conflict is very small and manageable and the UN has a greater chance of success in solving it by acting now without delay! But once the bullets and the bombs start to fly and there is no point of return and the war can't be stop and that why Cambodian leaders still insist on third party (super powers, UN, and International community) intervention! Otherwise there is no reason for Cambodia to have bilateral talk because the Thaicong government doesn't even respect international map, international law and international community!
Cambodian leaders must draw a line on the sand and say no to Thaicong aggression!
NO TALK, NO DISCUSSION, AND NO NEGOTIATION AND NO TO THAICONG NAKED AGGRESSION!
watch, there's no bilateral talk without cambodia's agreement. one such talk had failed already, so many more talks are there? all talks will always fail until thailand can respect the treaty of 1907 and the icj verdict. of course, thailand is the one that got a lot to lose for wanting to steal cambodia's land and temple when it comes to the law, so they want bilateral talk as an excuse, however, when cambodia refuse any agreement, then the UN council can see that it is failing. so much of siem thieves's move. they know they can't win with the law. god bless cambodia.
thailand is afraid to face the UN council and international media who, i'm sure, will have a lot of questions to ask thailand about their violation of the icj verdict, the treaty of 1907, their failure to block the unesco listing of preah vihear for world heritage site, their violation of the international law, etc... god bless cambodia.
Monarchy is not good in the thai country with the monkey king who has the face of trisomic. Why he does not open his mouth to calm down the situation? BECAUSE HE S NOT POWERFUL AS HE PRETENDS !!!!!!!
Thais are the little brothers of khmers, but unfortunatelym they were raised to hate their big brothers and not know the family history. All that because of fucking king who want to keep power and manipulate its people to preserve it. down monarchy, instaure REPUBLIC !!!!
Anyway, in case of war, as the khmer has more unity and uniform ethnicity more than thais, for sure, we will win against that country of katoeuy and whores.
You cannot bypass the bilateral talk, and you cannot bypass the local mediation with ASEAN. The court will order you to go through it anyway before they will considered your complaint. So, don't be stupid.
