(BangkokPost.com) - Second army commander Lt-Gen Sujit Sitthiprapa on Wednesday attended a bilateral meeting with Deputy Defence Minister Gen Neang Paht over disputes on Preah Vihear and Ta Moan Thom temples situated on Thai-Cambodian border.
The meeting was held at Thong Tarin hotel in the municipality of Surin province.
This is the 11th Joint Boundary Commission on the border dispute.
Reporters were not allowed to attend the meeting, but a press conference on progress made during the meeting was expected to be held at 3pm.
Preah Vihear has been claimed by both sides for decades, but was awarded to Cambodia by the International Court of Justice in 1962, a ruling that has rankled in Thailand ever since. The row spread early this month to Ta Moan Thom, a second ancient temple, on the border between Phanom Dong Rak district in Surin and Odday Meanchey in Cambodia.

Roum RITH le probleme avec avec la Thailande n'a pas la même la sification avec Le Vietnam . Ce qui me fait peur c'est avec le Vietnam Il suffit de regarder l'actualité . La Russie et la georgie les Russes ont intervenu pour protéger les russohones de la georgie . Un jour mais cela va arriver le Vietnam va rentrer dans le cambodge sous le même prétexte defense les vietnamiens qui occupent ILLEGALEMENT les territoires khmers avec la bénédiction de NS et de HN . Since centuries, our country has been always led by low and greedy people. It's really heartbreaking.
Mr. Hor Namhong Ah Siamese have invaded Cambadian terrytory, violateted Int's Law, ICJ in 1962 and recently UNESCO on July 07/2008 then ignoring our territorial right; don't expected they will respect you and Cambodian Nation!. It's time to sum up, bring this issue to UN is amust. There should not have any bilateral negotiation especially in this situation! but talk should! for som condition must applied. But do not forget to take care our fellow soldiers who standing in front line without proper facility usage. PL.K
