Cambodian opposition parties take election grievances overseas

PHNOM PENH, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Sam Rainsy Party (SRP) and the Human Rights Party (HRP), which are two opposition parties of Cambodia, have written to the leaders of 18 nations who signed the 1991 Paris Peace Agreement, complaining of alleged irregularities in the July 27 general election, local media reported Friday.

Signed by SRP President Sam Rainsy and HRP President Kem Sokha, the letters expressed the opposition parties wish to bring to signatories' attention the extent to which political developments in Cambodia have departed dangerously from the path laid out in the Paris Agreement, the Cambodia Daily newspaper said.

According to a copy of the letter, the two parties reiterate their complaints of "systematic and massive electoral fraud."

They also accuse the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and the National Election Committee (NEC) of deleting "hundreds of thousands" of pro-opposition voters from the election list.

Meanwhile, CPP lawmaker Cheam Yeap told the newspaper that he was not surprised by the opposition's letter-writing campaign but also believed that it would do them little good because other countries, a number of whom monitored the election, are confident the poll went smoothly enough.

Yes the poll went smoothy simultaneous so does the NEC/CPP election rigging. Making this election one of the BIGGEST fraudulent activities in Cambodia's history.

No wonder the court own by the CPP are unable to take on the complain when the Opposition have facts and envidence to present to the court.Becuase they ALREAY KNOW THAT THEY CHEATED IN THIS ELECTIONS. No body want a government who continuely evict it own people from their property and land for individual (not national) interests.

NEC officials who act, support, found and endorsed the fruadulence election activities should be GAOL for life.

I propose the NEC should be compose of each member countries signature in the 1991 Paris agreement. This mean there is higher chance for a proper trustworthy and fairer elections system in Cambodia.

This problem which is not a true problem looks only sam rainsy and not the immense majority of the Cambodians for whom the election is ended well.

The immense majority of Cambodians are more interested in their living conditions of every day: work, salary, accommodation, health...... more than sam rainsy electoral defeat.

Some Cambodians which are a little interested in the politics wonder why sam rainsy who failed in élections does not resign to give his position to another person more competent than him to lead the party to the next victory?

If we are in democracy, why the members of the sam rainsy’s party and the Cambodian journalists not never wonded on the true sam rainsy’s skill in politics?
Why they do not ever speak about the Sam rainsy’s crushing responsibility in the électoral defeat?

sam rainsy is a politician irremplacable?

The politics in Cambodia is always a political system of clan?

Here are the questions that it is also necessary to settle for to advance the democracy in Cambodia!

During the oaths of the deputies, the deputies who boycott this session see their seats distributed in the other political formations conversely proportional in the obtained seats, the less we have seats, the more we obtain redistributed seats.

The deputies who are present against the orders of their party, can sit without labels of their party.

In Cambodia nowday, The only political party of opposition deserving making counterweight for the PPC of Prime Minister Hun Sen is and has to be the Pro-royalist party of his majesty Sam dech Euv in a constitutional monarchy and not the sam rainsy parti.

My beloved Khmers!

I think therefore I am undoubtedly concluding that CPP makes Cambodia perfectly stable, then all the conditional living of Cambodians must be perfectly stable too? Ironically and ashamedly speaking, I have suffered and witnessed the wide variety of continuous horrors nowaday-- flogging, robberies, unjust executions, betrayals, and crushing ennui. These continuous horrors of CPP do not patriotically and selfishlessly serve any apparent greater good for the poor and miserable Cambodians, but only mockeringly point to the cruelty and folly humanity and the indifference of the natural world. In short, we Khmers are psychologically and mentally forcing to believe the word," Stability" is the heavenly perfect choice!

looks to me like the some opposition members are themselves just trouble-makers and puppets of some sort of foreign gov't out else for they have always run outside of cambodia to make cambodia look bad when cambodia isn't that bad at all. seeing is believing. one has to be skeptical in political tactics of some group! cambodia is no exception at all. god bless cambodia.
