Original report from Phnom Penh

A senior member of the Human Rights Party and a brother to its leader left the party Thursday, claiming its position to boycott an upcoming swearing-in ceremony differed from his own views.
Kem Sokhon, the younger brother of Kem Sokha, said Friday he was joining the Cambodian People's Party.
His defection comes one day after Prime Minister Hun Sen warned he would use divide and conquer tactics to weaken the opposition.
In a speech on Wednesday, Hun Sen said he was going to employ "DIFID" strategies, saying in English: "divide, isolate, finish, integration, and destroy and development."
"I left the Human Rights Party to join the CPP, because I'm not satisfied with the Human Rights Party joining the Sam Rainsy Party to boycott the first National Assembly meeting and swearing-in ceremony on Sept. 24," he said. "It opposes my idea."
Kem Sokhon held the deputy secretary-general position and was in charge of the Human Rights Party's election complaints.
The Human Rights Party won three National Assembly seats in July's election, but it has aligned itself with the opposition Sam Rainsy Party in a boycott of 29 lawmakers of the Sept. 24 ceremony, potentially deadlocking the government.
Kem Sokhon has also been a member of Funcinpec, an advisor to the party's secretary-general Nhiek Bunchhay, and a member of the Sam Rainsy Party's steering committee.
He moved to the Human Rights Party when his brother formed it following local commune elections in April 2007.
Kem Sokha said Friday his brother's departure would not change the party's stance to boycott the ceremony.
His brother's leaving also "does not show internal conflict" within the party, he said. "It is his right to choose a political party."

It seems that Khem Sokhon is an opporunist. He's seeking an opportunity to make money and get rich quick. We can understand now his point of view that he joint the various political party not to serve country and its people but his own benifit.
Khem Sohon = Hun Sen dog.
"destroy and development."
That is the Khmer Rouge model. That is why they destroyed 2 million peoples.
We know your strategy of wanting to destroy other party that oppose you and your party. But let me remind you that you've been know through out the world as a murderer. You need to know the limit of your power and your brain. You've been tolerated for too long. If you ever cross the line, your luck will run out soon because the cambodian people don't like you but you force to make them like you. When they're able to say enough is enough to you, your fade in the future just like your older brother who are now sitting in jail.
It's not so much of "divide and conquer" ..... more like divide and torture!
Indeed, the Khmer Rouge tactic!
he has no head.
CPP!
CPP!

Who's next? Kem Sokha
Only Sam Rainsy is a good opposition leader.
Let's wish him to be an opposition leader for the rest of his life.
Khmer people has learnt to adore someone who almost in his entire career sheds light and bring hope for the misfortune people. The people even the ground root supporters for the ruling people are back to the rationale and consciousness. They can't have a slight trust for cpp since the price of everything is killing them with their eye open. What do you suggest they do to tackle their daily life's expense? Price of gasoline, necessary commodities ..etc. Cpp now cannot just tame the people with cunning tactics of words..People will revolt and look for other sources and leaders that can "liberate" them from the miseries. And obviously the development is not giving helping hands for poor people to benifit rather the elites of the party and clans. Who not revolt when they can't even feed their hungry stomach? Why more support for the ruling system when the people get to realize that believingly the people are foolishy exploited for just benefits of particular individuals.
Say quick and act quick!
It is a surprise that showing the actual culture of Khmer. I don't have the in dept knowledge of our Khmer culture that to whether the family unification is before the personal benefit.
We have no right to blaim who is right or wrong. Kem Sokhon his just act on hi personal value. But the point is what is our Khmer value when coming to this situation.
Why losers often break up? Winners always united?
No need to break up between HRP and SRP!
Even HRP+SRP+ thousand royal family members: we are all still small given the fact that Vietnam is strong and has large population to help CPP.
Please stop talking about breaking up!
Congratulation to Samdech Dech Hun Sen for having his name in the new 2007 Britainica book.
However, please check the content again! I feel so pity to Hun Sen for leaving such name in the World History.
In 2000, he said he wanted to stay in power for 10 more years.
On September 17, 2008, he said that he is still strong at 2013 and he will continue forever.
"In a speech on Wednesday, Hun Sen said he was going to employ "DIFID" strategies, saying in English: "divide, isolate, finish, integration, and destroy and development."
It is amazing that AH HUN XEN continue to use Cambodian government federal, state, and local resource in the face of Thai naked aggression on Cambodia to destroy Cambodian people! It would be better if AH HUN XEN use those Cambodian government federal, state, and local resources to destroy the Thai naked aggression on Cambodia!
AH HUN XEN got his priority all wrong again! This is not the time to divide, isolate, and finish and destroy Cambodian freedom loving people!
By the way, AH HUN XEN never wants integration or development and that is why he kept his Vietcong government puppet apparatus in Cambodia!
what a blockhead this guy is.....just because people disagree with his view he swaps side.....how pathetic.....it's more about money Kem Sokhon....you are souless politician.
Why don't you think it is the tric of the RHP to get in to the inside of the CPP.
Sometimes you need to think....
11"19Am that the cheap trick! and if it is the trick, don't they want us to give shit the Kem Sokhon to make the mother fucker look real!
