Cambodia, Thailand to restart talks on border dispute

PHNOM PENH, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia and Thailand will restart bilateral negotiations to resolve their 10-week border dispute on Sept. 29 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York, national media reported Monday.

Either Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen or Foreign Minister HorNamhong will fly to New York this week to attend the General Assembly session, Chea Sokhum, deputy secretary-general of the Permanent Organizing Commission for National and International Ceremonies, was quoted by the Cambodia Daily newspaper as saying.

Whoever attends will also lead the Cambodian side Sept. 29 during negotiations in New York with the Thai foreign minister, Chea Sokhum told the newspaper.

Military leaders of both countries will also meet in early October in Siem Reap to resume negotiations concerning the withdrawal of troops from Preah Vihear temple, RCAF Region 4 Commander Chea Morn said.

The renewed talks will come four weeks after Thailand indefinitely postponed bilateral military meetings.

The border row erupted after Cambodia's arrest of three Thai nationalist protesters on July 15, whom authorities alleged crossed illegally into Cambodia close to the disputed temple site.

Since then, Thailand and Cambodia have been building up their forces near the temple and tensions have escalated, spreading to other temple sites along the border.

Thai is strong and smart and their Army is also strong. They invated cambodia and asked K. gov. to talk and delay what ever they want.
The longer they can delay the more they gain more support from international.
So what !!!!

Between Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos we still have the military alliance lasting from the 70's with a combined standing army of over 3 million strong with some 35 years of jungle and urgan fighting experience. The 1991 Paris Peace Accord did not dissolve this military obligation. To gether we fought against the Japanese, French, and the Americans and walked out as a winner in all of these wars. We can starr down the throat of the inexperinece Thai army any time, it we choose to. Khmer Rouge got a fair share of this experience. We've gotten used to fighting war so much, we actually missed it that we almost started one at Ta Krabey. If not for the order from up above, we could have fired that second shot that killed the Siam bastard and start the next great war between Thai and Cabodia. But we just wanted peace this time. However, do not force PM Hun Sen to resort to this option. International support will not work against an international court's ruling that says Preah Vihear and surrounding areas belong to Cambodia.

Anti- Thai bring 50 seats, Khmer Rouge coverage bring 10 seats

Hun Sen should thank western people who care so much about human rights and the Khmer Rouge issues.

Khmer Rouge documentaries raised by the third party prove to be an even more effective tool to support CPP propaganda since 1979.

The West doesn't like to support anyone who rule for 29 years, but their coverage on Khmer Rouge issues give Hun Sen for at least another ten years to attract new voters. Before, only my grandparents and parents are CPP supporters. Now, my young brothers and sisters also thank CPP.

Khmer Rouge coverage show Cambodians that at least we are better than the Khmer Rouge and CPP is their god who saved them, which reinforce the 1st out of 8 CPP poster.

Before, Cambodians were not interested in Khmer Rouge. Even the most famous and successful movie maker E Vong Hem lost $30,000 for Khmer Rouge film in 2004.
