Kem Sokhon was a losing candidate of the Human Rights party, presided by his brother, during the latest general election.
On Thursday 18 September, Kem Sokha’s younger brother announced that he is rejoining the CPP, whereas his older brother, Kem Sokha, who was elected during the last election, is still contesting the election results.
“I was a CPP member in the 80s, then I joined Funcinpec, then the Sam Rainsy Party, and finally the Human Rights Party. I came to the conclusion that only the CPP could serve the nation,” Kem Sokhon claimed. He was a HRP candidate during the latest election, but failed to win a parliament seat.
Kem Sokhon also indicated that he was a cop during the pro-Vietnamese PRK regime [presided by Heng Samrin].
