A Lot of Energy at [Republican] Convention: Observer

Former ambassador Sichan Siv

By Poch Reasey, VOA Khmer
Original report from Washington
04 September 2008

The Republican National Convention, underway in St. Paul, Minn., was back on track Wednesday, following the distraction of Hurrican Gustav, and participants were showing a lot of energy, a Cambodian former ambassador said.

Sichan Siv, a former US ambassador to the United Nations, is attending the convention, which officially named Sen. John McCain as the party's presidential candidate.

Sichan Siv told VOA Khmer by phone from the convention McCain made a good candidate because of his lifelong achievements in public office and the military.

McCain is a veteran pilot of the Vietnam War, and was held for years as a prisoner of war.

McCain's foreign policy experience in dealing with Asia also made him a good choice, Sichan Siv said, dismissing concerns of the candidate's age, 72.

With advancements in medicine, Sichan Siv said, people will soon live beyond 100 years of age.

He never was a US ambassador to the UN. He was part of a group representing a brach of US government to the UN. There is only one US Ambassador to the UN with many support staff and he may be one of those support staff.

Sichan Siv was the U.S. Representative to the Economic and Social Council under the First President Bush. He never was a true US Ambassador to the UN. he himself should know!!!

Of course, everyone was deceptively led to believe that he was the UN ammbassador represented the U.S; in fact, however, he was a mere representative represented the U.S. (nothing more).

Now, he can work for me. Yes, you heard me.

We believe Mr. Sichan, because he lives in America. American people just don't lie to 300 millions other people. Not when he wrote a book and not when he used to work for President Bush. You're good man alright Mr. Sichan. Please just ignore those arrogant people.

You no absolutely nothing when comes to simple comments or discussion, that is because of your ignorance.

Fact: I've known Mr. Siv all these years through my professional contacts, and I have never knew that he had held a position as an ambassador at the UN; however, he did have some ambassadorial duties and responsibilities. Yes, he was a UN repesentative appointed by Mr. Bush to represent the US.

Do you watch the republican convention tonight at 10:00PM ET? If you did, what did you see at the convention when the camera swirled around the convention floor? I hope you see what I see. I see Ah Youn, Hanoi, is very smart ass to raise the Viet flag during the convention addressed by John McCain. This dude didn't care what his country did to the former POW; what this Viet care is trying to show the Viet attended the convention. They are smart ass. So where is Cambodia flag which needs to be raised by Siv Chan. None he is afraid to show off Khmer identity.

If McCain wins the election, you will see Hanoi will change their attitude to McCain. They will do whatever they can to side line with McCain to benefit their agenda.

Wow! Nothing is good about this so-called Mr. Ambassador (or reprentative to be precise -- or not to exaggerate of his capacity).

Mr. representative, what have you done for your country during your tenure with the UN?

NOTHING!

Please do not post this idiot article on this website again.

That because the Cambodian government today deosn't have enough credibility for Mr. Sichan to fully support with his heart and soul. Too messy and sticky with the communist viet, perhaps. When Mr. Sam Rainsey takes the gov's seat. That might be different. Khmer oversea isn't that all lovy dowy with this type of viet people. Infact, most would take their shoes off and run away!

Do get ready for a new Viet face when Mr.McCain win the election. Those vietnamese people that are raising the vietnam's flag are the viet freedom fighter. They are waiting for the chance to turn their country back to normal one again. So that their people can go about living their lives free of the freak communist control. They cann't count on Obama to that. Obama know nothing about their suffering during the vietnam war. Not all vietnamese people are Communist lover. Most that ran away from their country are South Vietnamese people. They don't give a crap about the communist revolution sh.t. Those MF can go to hell. They want their country to be freed and lovely again and only with McCain, can they do it. Think we're dumb to figure that out? You might want to think again and who wouldn't want to be freed? or who wouldn't want to help? Please fill in the blank space......yourself.
