PHNOM PENH, Cambodia - A Cambodian official says gunfire has been heard at a disputed border zone between Cambodia and Thailand.
Cambodian official Hang Soth says the fighting broke out Wednesday between Thai and Cambodian troops at the disputed border zone.
Military officials in both countries could not be reached for immediate comment.
Both sides said they had deployed additional troops to a disputed stretch of jungle near the 11th century Preah Vihear temple, which has been a source of enmity between the two countries for decades.
