Cambodian and Thai army chiefs held talks for 5 hours in Thailand near Preah Vihear temple on Thursday to try to resolve the armed confrontation between the two countries.

General Srey Doeuk indicated that the two sides agreed to maintain the situation in the various zones near Preah Vihear temple as it was before the fighting took place.

Furthermore, at the Prolean Entry (Eagle Field) area, the two sides agreed to maintain Cambodian troops where they are currently stationed, and Thai troops will stop trying to move into the area.

A Cambodian officer indicated that during yesterday’s fight, 6 Thai soldiers were killed.

It doesn't look like fighting, it is more like a show.

What is the rationale behind the story, ordinary khmers may not know that.

Do you want to know what behind this show of war?. It's ietnam's goal of idochina dream. Vietnam want both cambodian and thai fight each other until both country economic become weak. Vietnamese government do not want other investors, chinese, korean and japanese, to invest in cambodia. The war between khmer and thai will keep those investor out of cambodia. So it will be only vietnamese investor stay.

TO 8:27AM,

I don't think so. Please don't make it worse than it is now. I don't live in Cambodia, but there is "NO" such int'l law to buy other country's land to incorporate yours own. However, Khmers in Kampuchea Krom can fight Hanoi and gain independence. But CAN NOT incorporate into Cambodia.

If there is an int'l law to buy other country's land to call your own. Don't you think the wealthiest countries in the world like Monaco, Luxembourg, and Switzerland would still sit idle on their funds? I don't think so, they would be out to Africa, South America, or Cambodia right now!

Let Thaksin invest in Koh Kong, Khmers in Koh Kong need jobs. Once they make make moneys, they will educate their childrens and the standard of living will be high.

Cambodia needs more investment to lift her people out of paverty and despair.

I love you all Khmers,
Regards,

Wether Taksin can buy Kosh Kong from hun sen and incorporate into thailand or not it depends on the purchase agreement between the two guys. They don't want us and the public to know. We'll know when there is a new conflict in the future.
