The ministry of Tourism wants to improve the number of tourists visiting the country, in particular during the Water Festival.
Two advertisement spots will be shown on CNN, the US news channel, in a few weeks to boast tourist attractions in Cambodia with the approach of the Water Festival.
The first spot titled: “The Kingdom of marvels” will show pictures of the king, the royal family, the prime minister, as well as views of the Angkor Wat temple and smiling faces, Thong Khon, the minister of Tourism, told Cambodge Soir Hebdo on Saturday 11 October.
They will be shown starting 22 October for a 6-month period.
The second spot titled “Water Festival” will show pictures of water spouts and racing boats. It will be broadcasted between 05 and 30 November.
Each year, close to 2 million tourists visit Cambodia. Thong Khon noted that there is a sizable increase during the Water Festival.

Wow! I can't wait to see the commercial. I am exciteed. Let it be known, Cambodia is a land of beauty and uniqueness.
^I agree with you sir! I know it's weeks away from the commericals airing but if anyone can DVR it and upload it on youtube, then that would be great. Cheers!
Good to see they are working hard to meet the need of the growing population.
God blesses all.
Bon Voyage to hell, Ah Scambo, and don't forget to write.
Cambodia is a land of beauties and uniqueness, I fully agree with you 2:26 PM. There are so many things to see, even the poors the very poors can give you a smile though they are in trouble having no money no food to eat. Khmers are very generous!
God bless Cambodia!
So good to hear. Best of luck to my beloved people, the Khmers. Love you much-much.
May the God Almighty bless you and grant you with wisdom to live peacefully with great strength.
Cheyo Khmer
Cheyo Khmer
...
And may the God bless the USA, the reliable friend of the Khmer. God bless you, the USA, and her beloved people, the Americans.
I am a student studying in Japan. I watch CNN (CNNj) almost everyday, and I often see Advertisement of Khmer country, people and water festival, in CNN, since early of this month. "...Cambodia, Kingdom of Wonder". I am so happy to see the Ad, many students in my course know more about our beloved country from the Ad.
It's so nice to hear this news! Please don't forget Ms. Jolie. She was the one who undeniable started it all, begining with her adoption of our Cambodian's boy and with our friends and families living in America, it helped. Cambodian people living in the United States are American citizens. WE ARE REALLY ONE COUNTRY.
Also one special note:
Deos anyone really know why the US droped North Korea from the terrorist list?
Remember the royal family are very close to North Korea. Brotherly almost and how can a brother fight another brother that easily? God bless us all!
Ordinary Khmers
It would be even greater if they get rid of the king and royal family and hun sen in the ads....just show the smiling faces of the ordinary khmer people and the famous landmarks.....this ads is for tourism not a chance for political and royal propaganda....get over it ah sen and ah royal scums....this is not the occassion for you to be in there.
Fuck the ad; just a fucking waste.
What are you doing with the money you made from the tourism?
First you getting the donors money, now you spend their money for this stupid ad on the CNN, what a waste of national budget.
As long as the tension between The Thai is still going on, other people will know and feel unsafe. Therefore, the chance that they will come and visit is unlikely. The Thai too will loose money, because half of the Hotel Chains in Siem Reap belong to them. Watch their stock market price! it will go down to hell just like everybody else. Right now, they are busy fighting with each other and forget all about it. Their time will come. Many countries that are investing their profits in Thailand can not make a dime during this chaos. Soon or later, if those protesters don't stop making trouble, they will all leave and The thai, you will cry monkey.
hahaha ah svar is on CNN ad lmao
oh my country
Cambodia's really a marvellous country but it would be greater if the spot doesn't have the face of the power-addicted man, hun sen, a man that destroy their own nation
