[Thai] PM to restore Thailand's image at Asem summit

Friday October 24, 2008

(BangkokPost.com) - Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat said he will use the summit of Asia-Europe Meeting (Asem) to restore Thailand's international luster that has been diminished due to political turmoil.

Issues that he expected to be discussed at the summit include global financial crisis, as Thailand has experienced financial crisis in 1997, he said.

He will meet Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen on Friday on the sidelines of the summit to discuss border conflict.

It will be the first meeting between leaders of both countries after clashes between Thai and Cambodian soldiers earlier this month.

One Thai soldier and two Cambodian soldiers were killed in the clashes.

That's right nobody will remember anything bad about Thaildand, only good fluffy thought.

Life is so easy.
