Hun Sen, who launched an ultimatum to Thai troops to leave the area today before noon, said that the control of this territory abutting Preah Vihear temple as an “issue of life and death.”

Thai troops pulled out at 10:20 AM from Veal Entry (Eagle Field), a zone located between the mountain and the disputed pagoda, a military source indicated at noon time today, following Hun Sen’s ultimatum launched yesterday and reiterated this morning on TV.

Yim Pim, an officer in charge of an army unit in Veal Entry, confirmed this withdrawal to “Cambodge Soir Hebdo.”

“We consider the sovereignty over Veal Entry as a strategic point of life and death,” Hun Sen threatened on Tuesday morning. “To lose this spot means the loss of the control of Preah Vihear. We will keep Veal Entry, whatever the cost will be.”

“A spokesman from the Bangkok government said that this area belonged to them,” Hun Sen said in anger. “How could this be? They just entered the area yesterday!”

Reacting to the “concern” expressed by Singapore, chair of ASEAN, Hun Sen declared: “We are more worried than they are, this is our territory that was violated.”

“If Thailand considers Cambodia as being negligible, let them say so!” Hun Sen added. “However, the ants can also disturb the sleeping elephant. They can step on my toe, but not on my head.”

I praise our Prime Minister Hun Sen for speaking with conviction and from the bottom of his heart regarding Cambodian border conflict!

If Cambodia want to be invaded by an ASEAN member and Cambodia doesn't need to join the ASEAN! Cambodia can join other major powers for protection and Cambodia can always have endless supply of weapons to keep any Cambodian archenemy at bay!

This is a lesson for Cambodia and in any future border conflict involving other ASEAN members with Thailand and Cambodia has an obligation to help those ASEAN members who are being victimized and bully by Thai naked aggression!

Cambodian people don't need to kiss the fucken arse of any ASEAN member to be special and Cambodia will be treated as equal partner in ASEAN otherwise fuck the ASEAN!

ASEAN without Cambodia is called Indochina!

Thai army ready to defend sovereignty at all costs, and we believe that the Cambodia's prime minister was bluffing when he informed his generals to lie on his behalf in an effort to save his face by telling his people that Thai troops have withdrawn.

Thai troops will remain at the Thai-Cambodian border area, and they are fully ready to protect the country’s sovereignty, Thai army spokesman Sansern Kaewkamnerd said at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Royal Thai Army’s statement, it will not withdraw its troops from the disputed border because the territory belongs to Thailand.

Earlier Tuesday, Brig-Gen Yim Pin, the Cambodian army chief, claimed that all Thai soldiers had retreated approximately a kilometre from the disputed border area.

“The three armed forces of Thailand together with their reinforcements are prepared for the potential armed confrontations in the border area to defend the country’s sovereignty. The Supreme Commander Songkitti Jakkabatra will report the army’s information to Prime Minister and Defence Minister Somchai Wongsawat,” Col Sansern said.

He said the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs will determine on the return of Thai people living in Cambodia.

The Thai armed forces have already coordinated with each other to bring back Thai people from Cambodia, once the army received the government’s order, Col Sansern said.

The army spokesman still believed that negotiations between both countries should be a better alternative to settle the border row.

Thailand will not launch an offensive first, but if Cambodia encroaches into Thailand’s territory, the Thai army is ready to confront any incident to protect the country’s sovereignty, Col Sansern concluded.

Bangkok Post Top Stories War threat.mht

by William/wilsonncpenn@yahoo.com - Oct 14, 2008 06:13
The Cambodian foreign minister said yesterday's talks failed to end in agreement because his counterpart that is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand "could not sign anything".
Thailand has always claimed that it is willing to solve the dispute over the border with Cambodia, but in fact it has proven to be a delay tactic which Thailand has been maneuvering to pull from the bag at the last minute, including even the unilateral annullment of the June 18, 2008 Joint Communique signed by the Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia and the Foreign Minister of Thailand.

"The limitations imposed by the Constitution of Thailand and Thai internal laws" are almost exclusively invoked by Thai government learders and officials in order to walk away from signing any meaningful documents with Cambodia.

In the meantime, Thai troops, heavy armed units, tanks and even Jet fighters under the command of the military, but the latter is clearly independent of the government of Thailand, were dispatched to the border areas with Cambodia and flew inside Cambodian air space over the Temple of Preah Vihear in flagrant violations of the spirit of the GBC and the 2000 MOU, and relevent international laws and practices.

It was absurd when the Suranaree chief said that "his patience is wearing thin, and called for a quick solution to the border spat and a clear direction to be provided by the government as it could become an armed conflict if it was left unsettled," because he knew quite well that his unit and every other units of the Thai armed forces do not obey the order of the government.

Thailand needs to change. Thailand must leave international affairs to the government. The military must be under the command of the (civilian) government. Take the case of the United States for example, the Joint Chiefs obey the order of Secretary of Defence, and beyond that the Commander-in Chief who is the President of the United States.

How many heads does the leadership of Thailand is composed of? Too many heads pull in all directions. That is not a democratic system of government.

Thai army vows to maintain troops in disputed area
The Thai army on Tuesday vowed to maintain its troops in the disputed area near Preah Vihear Temple despite Cambodia's ultimatum for Thailand to withdraw the troops.

Thai army said in a statement that it was prepared for a confrontation with Cambodia if the spat escalated.

"The armed forces reaffirmed that all three armed forces -- army, navy and air force -- are ready for confrontation in the area and are confident in our potential to defend Thailand's sovereignty," it said.

"We will neither start fighting or invade into Cambodia first, but we will surely act in self-defence if Cambodia invades into our territory," the army said.

Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Sen issued an ultimatum on Monday to open wars if Thailand failed to withdraw its troops from an area near Preah Vihear Temple.

Meanwhile Thai Foreign Minister Sompong Amornwiwat said, "All 80 troops will remain in the disputed area because Thailand has overseen that area for 20 to 30 years."

Sompong said of those 80 troops deployed to the area, 20 of them are mine clearance workers and the rest offer protection for the mine clearance troops. Thailand insists it has not encroached in any territory, he said.

BANGKOK, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Thai army decided Tuesday to retain troops in the disputed area near the Preah Vihear temple despite an ultimatum by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen for a pullout of Thai troops,

Thai army said in a statement that it was prepared for a confrontation with Cambodia if the spat escalated.

The statement said the armed forces reaffirmed that all three armed forces -- army, navy and air force -- are ready for confrontation in the area and are confident in the potential to defend Thailand's sovereignty.

"The Thai army will neither start fighting or invade into Cambodia first, but we will surely act in self-defense if Cambodia invades into our territory," the statement said.

In July, tensions ran high after the ancient Preah Vihear Temple was awarded world heritage status by UNESCO, angering nationalists in Thailand who still claim ownership of the site.

The tension later turned into a military confrontation, in which up to 1,000 Thai and Cambodian troops faced off for six weeks. In mid-August, most troops evacuated and just a few dozen soldiers stationed near the temple.

In October at the border area, at least two Thai troops and one Cambodian soldier were wounded during an exchange of gunfire, and two other Thai soldiers were seriously injured after stepping on a landmine.

Thailand denies withdrawal from disputed Cambodian border
Posted: 14 October 2008 1617 hrs

(From www.channelnewsasia.com)

BANGKOK : Thailand's foreign minister on Tuesday denied that about 80 of the country's troops had withdrawn from a disputed area on the border with Cambodia, and insisted they had the right to stay there.

Cambodian military officials earlier said that the Thai soldiers had moved out of the contentious area near the ancient Preah Vihear temple, after Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen issued an ultimatum.

"All 80 troops will remain in the disputed area because Thailand has overseen that area for 20 to 30 years," Thai Foreign Minister Sompong Amornviwat told reporters.

"Of those 80 troops, 20 of them are mine clearance workers and the rest offer protection for the mine clearance troops. Thailand insists it has not encroached in any territory."

The Thai army also ratcheted up the rhetoric, saying that it was prepared for a confrontation with Cambodia if the months-long spat on the border escalated.

"The Thai armed forces agreed to maintain troops in the area because that area is claimed by both Thailand and Cambodia," the army said in a statement.

"The armed forces reaffirmed that all three armed forces -- army, navy and air force -- are ready for confrontation in the area and are confident in our potential to defend Thailand's sovereignty," it said.

The Cambodian officials said some 80 Thai troops began to withdraw from the area near the ancient Khmer Preah Vihear temple shortly after commanders from both sides held talks during the morning.

"They withdrew from the area around 10:20am and went back to their headquarters, which is around a kilometre away," Cambodian Brigadier General Yim Pim told AFP by telephone from the area.

"There is no more confrontation now. The situation is eased now, but we still on high alert," he added.

Speaking at an economic forum in Phnom Penh before the reported withdrawal, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen maintained his tough rhetoric.

"I have ordered all military commanders to take responsibility for the area. The area is a life and death battle zone," he added.

"Ants can hurt elephants. They (Thais) should not have done this."

The International Court of Justice ruled back in 1962 that the Preah Vihear temple belongs to Cambodia, but surrounding land remains in dispute.

Tensions between the neighbours first flared in July after the temple was awarded world heritage status by the United Nations cultural body UNESCO.

They escalated into a military confrontation, with to 1,000 Cambodian and Thai troops facing off for six weeks, although both sides in August agreed to reduce troop numbers.

Each country accuses the other of violating its territory.

Hun Sen's comments Tuesday reiterated the ultimatum he made Monday, after negotiations in Phnom Penh between the Cambodian and Thai foreign ministers ended without a breakthrough.

In Bangkok, Thai Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat called an urgent meeting of the top military brass, and said he was not against withdrawing troops from the disputed area but that the two sides much first agree the details.

"Thailand is not opposed to a withdrawal, where each side moves back to avoid confrontation, but we propose that the detail of any withdrawal should be worked out by a joint committee," he told reporters earlier.

He said the committee would decide the extent of any pullback.

After his trip to Phnom Penh, Thai foreign minister Sompong had appeared bullish, saying he thought should they should wait for Cambodian officials to cool down and insisting the disputed land belonged to Thailand.

"The problem now is not about withdrawing or not withdrawing -- it's our territory. How can they tell us that it is their territory?" he asked.

"As soon as I returned there was a report of a deadline. What can we do? We are in our own homeland, and they want us to evict us from our own home."

Well! The Thai government want to impose their cold war map on Cambodia is a no-no proposition. The international map will prove once and for all that all the disputed territories claimed by Thailand are in fact inside Cambodia!

Why fear the Thai for violating Cambodian sovereignty? There should be no appeasement for the Thai naked aggression any longer otherwise Cambodian will lose more land!

The best army in the Southeast Asia, Thai can’t even fight the insurgents in the south, poor Burma and Laos and now they want to try with Cambodian. Look doesn’t count in a battle field, ability to fight does, and Cambodian knew that.

Bystander from the West.

All Khmers: Pls be polite and keep Khmer dignity in mind. There are other terms of expressions for the same meaning, pls.

Never wasting your time to listen to Thais and their media. Thais are Thais, we know them about 700 years since they first appeared on earth on 13rd century. The difference should be that present Khmers should not follow the path of the previous kings i.e. through alliance and strategized negotiations. If they believe what they are doing is legal, a rich Thai nation should have chosen court to solve the problem. It's very ashamed internationally. A Khmer saying "Thief is always thief" might be true.
Hun Sen understands the past very correctly. That's why he chose a tough stand. Thais agreed not to deploy more troops, but more troops (with YELLOW badge, die for the king!) keep coming. At the international forums, they have spoken different words by different officials. It seemed that Thais have more than two governments now and their statements are not well coordinated.

Perhaps it is premature for Cambodi's prime minister to have asked for his casket for his upcoming funeral, if he DARE to wage war with our MIGHTY troops; also, it would be tantamount to a full-scale armed conflict -- you have our assurances -- we'll bring the whole Cambodia down.

Anonymous said...

Don't forget to dress your Vietnamese-slave troops up for a full-scale armed conflict, because you know what will happen to you and your troops.

We say: Bring it on, pal!

Cambodia has just lodged a complaint to the World Court arguing that Thailand has occupied its territory of Surin, Sisaket, Trat, and Sakeo illegally for 100 years.

Cambodia also demands that Bangkok must be turned into a white zone pending further negotiations. But this latest point has met with protests from millions of Thai whores and transvestites who are plying their trades within Bangkok's numerous red light districts. But Hun Sen, the Cambodian PM, responded that it shouldn't be an issue as his former Khmer Rouge Cambodian army will send them to heaven along with their killer king and queen.

The Thai FM, Sompong ( ask for testicles, literally) replied: But BangCock was not our land, you know ?

Ah Sen, what are you going to do now?

First, you allowed your generals to lie to the press, then you pissed the Thai. Now, what's on your plate?

I think you need to come up with something quick, perhaps something quick like your fucking mouth.

Don't worry, you've already started a war.

You fucking idiot PM.

Cambodia's prime minister is the mother of all fuckup in the history of mankind. This idiot should not lead Cambodia, and should not listen to his Vietnamese dog. Yes, now, it is the time for the Vietnamese-slave prime minister to stop his fucking crazy mind.

Don't fret, we'll let our defense ministry make decision.

One slightly wounded on Cambodian soldiers resulted in 5 heavily wounded on Thai soldiers. If one extrapolates that, 15 M Khmers could take down 75 M Thais. Given the fact that Thais are surrounded by enemies because of their own historical acts, there is a chance that Thais won't survive lany longer.

Foreign Minister Sompong Amornvivat on Tuesday affirms Thai troops will remain at the Thai-Cambodian border despite Cambodia’s ultimatum to use forceful means. He believes negotiations between prime ministers from both countries can settle the border row. — Pattanapong Hirunard

According to Si Sa Ket governor Seni Jitkasem, Thai border security volunteers were dispatched to provincial villages to aid the villagers, should violent confrontations occur.

THAI-KHMER BORDER TENSION
Thailand will act in self - defence : Cambodia told
By The Nation

If Cambodia resorts to use of force, Thailand will have to exercise its right of self-defence as provided under the Charter of the United Nations : Thai FM

Tensions along Thai and Cambodian border have flared up again on Tuesday after Thailand refused to follow Cambodia's threat to withdraw its troops from an area near Preah Vihear Temple.

Thai Foreign Ministry's statement said, ""If Cambodia does resort to the use of force in accordance with its so-called ultimatum, Thailand will have to exercise its right of self-defence as provided under the Charter of the United Nations."

Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Sen issued the ultimatum on Monday, saying Bangkok could face large-scale conflict if Thailand failed to abide by his threat.

Just leave Viet out of your problems
-During 80s, Viet had full control of Preahvihear, and Thai Troops behaved nicely. Even so, quick encounters with Viet showed Thai Armforces was not an equivalent opponent to Viet. Infact, in 1985 alone, Sisaket province, Thai lost 8 combimed jets to Viet and un-account of deads
-Now, Cambodia belongs to Cambodians.
Just leave Viet out of your problem. To confront with Viet, One would say in 1980 that without international pressure, it would take Viet Troops only 24 hrs from Sisophone Cambodia to Bangkok, Thailand.
