Cambodia and Thailand continued their war of words over a disputed border area on Tuesday as Cambodian officials said Thai troops had left the site of an ancient Khmer temple, while Bankok denied the claims. Cambodia had earlier told Thailand to withdraw or face a "large-scale armed conflict".
"All 80 troops will remain in the disputed area because Thailand has overseen that area for 20 to 30 years...and 20 of them are mine clearance workers," said Thai Foreign Minister Sompong Amornviwat. He added that Thai troops have not moved on to any Cambodian territory.
Cambodian Brigadier General Yim Pim refuted these claims, saying that Thai troops had withdrawn that morning after commanders from both sides held talks.
"There is no more confrontation now. The situation is eased now, but we are still on high alert," said the General.
The conflict flared in July after UN cultural agency UNESCO awarded World Heritage status to the Preah Vihear temple.

Yeah, they've occupied the area for 20 or 30 years and yet they're not sure whether the mines have been put there recently or was left in there along time ago. What the hell? If it was truly their land, then why do they question that? Who's crazy enough to go into their territory to put those mines? That just shows how twisted these Siam are.

The mountain and everything on it belong to Khmer in Thailand. It was specifically build by Khmer King for them, not for the monkeys in Cambodia.
Thailand declared war on Khmer since July 15, 2008. Their armed soldiers occupy Khmer land all along the borders, and destroyed our villagers house, killed domesticated animal, uprooted fruit trees and vegetable. Only 3 choices left for Khmer to do.
1. Neutralize those Thai soldiers who are on Khmer territory, and shoot any new one cross over the border JUST like Lao did to them: we are only protect our sovereignty
2. Stop negotiation. What is nogotiation? There was should not be negotiation in the first place. They sent their solders to Khmer land and then call for negotiation! They sent their army in and then claim to be their land, using their own drawn map. That is jut B.S. They broke their bilateral promise ofter countless meeting. Many more meeting do not mean anything, but prolonging for Thai keep on sending more troop on Khmer land. Negotiation is not working.
3. Submite all avaiable documents to UN, International Court of Justice. Because these organization are formed to prevent this kind of aggression of one neigbor to other. Request border conflict experts from from UN (no Thai or Cambodia personal should be part of this group to prevent bias) to monitors on the ground. Now we can accept any decision from these two bodies of organization. And then build demarcation line and fortify the whole border with Thai, except certain entry where business transaction can be move between the country, and that depend on Thai behavior. We can live without to do anything with Thai. We can many others countries that are willing to do business with us Khmer.
