A Cambodian army officer said on Sunday that the Ta Moan Thom, which the Thai army closed its access to Cambodians since 20 September, is opened again for visit. Neak Vong, commanding officer of army region 4, told The Cambodia Daily that his soldiers opened the door to the Ta Moan Thom temple at about 1:45 PM on Sunday and Cambodians can go visit this temple. Chea Morn, commander of army region 4, said that this opening stems from recent negotiations between himself and Thai army commander for region 2. Var Kim Hong, chairman of the government border committee, welcomed this news and said that this is a good sign for the ministerial negotiations which will be held this Monday.
