Thailand has increased its troop and ammunition supplies along the border of Bantey Meanchey province over the past few days, following a small skirmish and the injury by landmine of two Thai troops in the past week, military and government officials said.
Banthey Meanchey Governor Oung Ouen said Thursday the Thai side was increasing troop deployments along 150 kilometers of his border, west of Preah Vihear temple, the initial site of a military standoff that began July 15.
Many encampments of around 20 soldiers along the border had been bolstered by five to ten soldiers more since Tuesday, he said.
The increase came following a the first fracas between opposing soldiers, at Phnom Trop near Preah Vihear temple on Friday, and the injury of two Thai soldiers on the same mountain on Monday, he said.
However, he said, there was no apparent tension between the two sides.
Col. Ven Say, deputy commander of Regiment 51, said the Thais had sent 50 boxes of ammunition to soldiers along the border of Banthey Meanchey.
The increase of troops and ammunition were not a cause for concern, he said, but Cambodian soldiers were vigilant “24 hours” a day in the area.
Meanwhile, Cambodian soldiers at Preah Vihear have begun confiscating cell phone SIM cards from a Thai network used by many people living and working along the border.
Hang Soth, chairman of the Preah Vihear National Authority, said Thursday the SIM cards had been collected since Wednesday in an effort to improve security for Cambodian soldiers deployed nearby.

Support 100% of banning and confiscating Thai simcard, however, the authority must establish alternative way for replacement, avoiding resenting people. For example, ask Keth Meng to install the high capacity transmission at Preah Vihear areas comparable to the Thai system.
I don't think Thailand will invade or go to war with Cambodia. It will be a bad message to the whole world. I don't think the European Union, U.S. Japan, Korea, or China will condone Thailand to do it. Otherwise, Thailand will face sanction just like Vietnam in 80s and early 90s or even worse military action until it withdraw.
In the meant time lay some more LAND MINES, and take the same action just like in Phnom Trop. It not illegal we are defending our people and sovereinty.

I just want to show a different idea why Thailand and Thai army want to have conflict with cambodian government. The thai government know that there are a lot of cambodians people and politicians don't like the current mafia cambodian government under murderer sadam hun sen . So the thai government open the door for those cambodians people and politician a safe place to escape. The thai learn this from vietnamese that they can use the cambodian to go to war with cambodian. Remember in the election if it's not fraud cpp got only 40%. On the hand thai want china to get involve because china don't like vietnamese to colonize both cambodia and laos. It's a very serious future threat to both thailand and china. So Hun Sen mafia government must know that china will be only the tiger in asia. Most vietnamese oversea in the U.S don't like chinese government and chinese people because china is the problem and obstraction for vietnamese to swallow its neighbors.
