The number of casualties increased in Preah Vihear. The day after the confrontation which saw two Cambodian soldiers killed and several Thai soldiers injured, a third Cambodian soldier was added to the number of casualties. According to his comrades who found him on Thursday 16 October at about 4:00AM, he died of exhaustion, or according to another possible scenario: he would have died from fume intoxication from his heavy gun during the fight the day before.
The 13 Thai soldiers, who were rounded up during the fight, are still under surveillance by Cambodian troops inside the compound of the Wat Keo Sekha Kiri Svarak pagoda, after they were disarmed.
While the majority of the civilians have left the region surrounding Preah Vihear, those who were left behind are those who couldn’t afford to pay the transportation cost. The cost from Preah Vihear temple to Anlong Veng, located about 200 km from each other, is currently 77,000 riels ($19.25) per person – an amount which is too exorbitant for a family of 3 to 5. To earn some income, villagers from the region sell their vegetables to soldiers.
Army chiefs from the two camps plan to meet each other today to discuss about the situation.

The fighter jets F16 are bought from the US, the military vehicles such as Hammer are supplied by the US, The helicopters and altiraries are all supplied by the US. There is no reason for the US to support Cambodia in this bilateral conflict. Cambodian government submitted a request of resolution to US last month, but was kicked by the UN secetery general under the support by the US. I believe the sacrify of our soldiers can bring a peace for our nation. Cambodian's sentiment is much higher than those in Thailand. But because Thailand are now under the political manuevering of the King, the old king is always hard to please. Peace will come after his death.
Hun Sen was right, the purpos of his threatening of war is to wake up the awereness of international community, we need them to help us to deal with this issue, but they don't care only after we make the voice louder than they will hear.
