Interesting contrast between Khmer and Thai soldiers stationed in Preah Vihear

On 03 Nov 2008, the Koh Santepheap daily newspaper posted on its website the following photos from Preah Vihear temple area:

Thai soldiers posted at Wat Keo Sekha Kiri Svarak Pagoda appear to be playing cards and watching TV to pass time. One Thai soldier can even be seen enjoying his leisure invasion time barefeet (All photos: Chom Chao, Koh Santepheap)

Honestly, the contrast shown here in these photos are very biased. Both Cambodian and Thai soldiers enjoy many common things in their spare time such as playing cards, watching tv, smoking, being barefoot, etc. Not just Thai. I'm pretty sure Cambodian soldiers do the same thing.

And the black-clad Thai soldiers shown in the photo are mainly para-military border rangers who for the most part are of Khmer Surin heritage from the bordering provinces but unfortunately think of themselves as Thai.

The bulk of the Thai military, not shown in this particular article are not black-clad uniformed, but rather well uniformed and heavily equipped with modern weaponry similar to western nations such as France, Germany, etc.

Hopefully through increased military spending, the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces will be able to upgrade their weapons (mostly Chinese & Soviet origin from the 1980's and 1990's)and also provide better stipends. I would be heartbroken if the increased military spending (that Hun Sen promised)only just went into the hands of the great many corrupted high military officers (similar to Lon Nol era military officers).

Anyway, cheyo kampuchea!!!!!

It is about time to educate the Khmer soldiers about bilateral between Vietnam and Cambodia. There is no such thing that is Vietnam is Khmer and Khmer is Vietnam. Border in between both country have to be recognized same thing here between Thai and Khmer. If A SiCho Hun Sen denied, the Khmer soldier must stand up move to station near Khmer and Vietnam border to protect border integrity.

We Khmer Surin or Khmer in Thai don't want to see Phnom Penh change to Nam Vang! All those CPPs elites or officials are YOUN pretend to be Khmer and change their name to Khmer and they are all look like YOUN and CHIN.

Where is the real Khmer?
Only a few, HUN SEN, Chea Sim and Heng Samrin which all these guys also betraying Khmer and brought all those YOUN and CHIN taken higher position and steal all Khmer's treasure.

We Khmer in Thai want to liberate Khmer from becoming Vietnamization.

We will liberate you brother Khmer!!

I am happy to see brave Khmer soldiers willing to give up their lives for the sake of Cambodia. At the same time I am saddened by the news of increasing militarty spending because I know it will only benefits those brainless and do-nothing generals. These brave soldiers willing to defense the land that dont even belong to them. The land that they are defending and willing to give up their life for are all belong to the generals, top government officials and business people. This is a sad reality.
