Friendly meeting between Vietnamese and Cambodian young people
Nhan Dan – Nearly 500 Vietnamese and 50 Cambodian young people joined the Vietnam-Cambodia Youth’s Friendly Meeting Programme 2008 at Ho Chi Minh City Youth House of Culture on December 1.
The programme lasts from December 1 – 7 in Vietnam
The Cambodian delegates will visit places of interest in Ho Chi Minh City and meet students of the Foreign Trade University, the Ho Chi Minh City Young Businesspeople’s Association, watch Vietnamese water puppeting and so on.
From December 4-7, the delegates will go to the southern province of Dong Nai, visit the Dong Nai Industrial Park and then go to Da Lat City, Lam Dong province.

to use former president ronald reagon's advice: how about trust but verify! i think cambodia and vietnam is at its new era now, so i think it is good to establish diplomatic liason, given, of course, the vietnamese must respect khmer culture, value, language, identity, etc... you don't just come to another country as old as cambodia and try to look down on our culture, tradition, beliefs, etc..., and definitely, do not try to convert us into vietnamese as we, khmer people and nation love our khmerness and identity, rich culture, tradition, etc... just because cambodia is different from vietnam, doesn't give viet thieves the right to want to impose their culture, identity, etc, on cambodia. otherwise, khmer people will hate youn again. so, the key to a new generation of friendship is mutual trust and respect for khmer cultural identity, etc... this is why we are called khmer, not vietnamese. so, leave you viet shit at your own home. when viets come to cambodia as tourists etc, must respect the local culture like law, differences, etiquette, custom, etc... cambodia do not want to be like vietnam and vietnamese people, ok!! this is cambodia, not vietnam! god bless cambodia.
It's deja vu all over again.In the 50th,north Vietnam took a bunch of disgrentle khmers with them to Hanoi brainwashed and trained them to do dirty work for them in Cambodia.All khmer have to be awared of this yuon trick.
3:21 AM, first it is in the 1950's or the 50's but not the 50th. And yes, many of those abducted/indoctrinated Yuon/Khmer have returned during the Pol Pot killing spree and even now served in the current Hun Sen government in Cambodia.

if khmer were to be like the vietnamese, our ancestors wouldn't have been able to build a great empire with great monuments such as angkor wat we see today. so, viets, don't try to turn khmer into viets. khmer will always be khmer. god bless cambodia and all our beautiful khmer people and citizens.
