CPP Chea Chanto: Cambodia would create favourable conditions for Hun Sen's Viet bosses to open bank branches in the Cambodia

PM welcomes Cambodian bank governor

December 19, 2008

Nhan Dan – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on December 18 received the visiting National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) delegation led by Governor Chea Chanto.

Governor Chea Chanto said that the relations between the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and the NBC have seen ever more progress on the basis of the two countries’ traditional friendly co-operation.

He informed PM Dung that during his visit to Vietnam, the two central banks exchanged views on the economic situation in their respective countries and on their activities in the areas of monetary policy, inspections and operation of credit organisations. Two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on the exchange of information regarding banking inspections to create a legal foundation for stricter management in order to help the two countries’ commercial banks operate in a safer and more secure manner in the context of international competition and integration.

Governor Chanto affirmed that the Cambodian authorities would create favourable conditions for the Vietnamese commercial banks to open their branches in the Cambodia.

PM Dung highly appreciated the co-operation between SBV and NBC, particularly the agreement signed during Governor Chea Chanto’s working visit.

He said that the Vietnamese Government and people would do their utmost to boost the friendly, co-operative and neighbourly relations between Vietnam and Cambodia in the interests of their people.

According to PM Dung, Cambodia’s recent granting of licences to two Vietnamese banks to open their branches in the country will help increase the two countries’ trade value to US$2 billion by 2010 and encourage Vietnamese businesses to invest in Cambodia.

i guess what we see in cambodia today is part of the new faces of cambodia. some people who are old-fashioned minded and attitude may see it differently as may i say they are blinded by their past over ambition or something. i see nothing is to be afraid here doing busines with former enemies etc... as long as those historical enemies don't abuse, or steal from cambodia or as long as they don't impose their culture over our culture and must respect our local custom, laws, differences, etc... then i'm fine with it. but if is purely just a business thing, then perhaps, there is something good for khmer people and nation to learn from and thus help to make our country better in time. it will take a brand new educated class of people or generation to see this benefit as changes. only time can clear any misunderstand or fear. god bless cambodia.

remember the words of the wise: when something fails or not working, change the strategy to make it work; that is a smarter and cleverer thing we can do. god bless cambodia.

there are two forces/two choices in the world: good and evil; both are very powerful in its own way, even after death. please choose wisely for the sake of our future survival. it is good practice to always assume people are good unless they proved otherwise. god bless.

Hahaha! Another Yuon takeover of the IndoChina Federation by Vietnam. Why dont we Khmer people ever learn to not invite Yuon into our country and do business with them. They are the most Khmer haters in all of Vietnam. I dont think our government see what is happening. The more they invest in our country the more of their people will come and work and eventually take over the damn country and oppress our same people in Kampuchea Krom. Why is it that Vietnam can invest in Cambodia but Cambodia don't have anything to invest in Vietnam? Why is it so lax for Vietnam to cross our border but so hard for our khmer people to cross into Vietnam? C'mon people let's open up our eyes and think twice of our motherland being taken over in the near future by Yuon. The same thing that is happening in Laos, the very same thing will be Cambodia..Viet domination!! Be careful!

Chea Chanto should concern about the national
cambodian bank first.

First, most of the news bills of Cambodia dated
from 2001 to 2004.
Usually, new paper monies should be same year
as we used. Mean, when we are used new paper monies 2008,
this paper monies should dated 2007 or 2008, not 2001.

Secondly, there are so many duplicate paper
monies in Cambodia.
I wonder the procedure that chea chanto had installed
to verify the new bills paper monies printed.
How come they had duplication.
How come the machine printed 2 times the same numer
in the paper monies of 5000 riels...
